I think I have the high bid now, how you guys makin out with the snow melt? My Colorado Co, that I sold 2 years ago, we used to do all the flatwork for Richmond, couple thousand homes a year, don't know how the guys who bought it are faring with the housing slowdown.

Well aint that something, we actually have the Richmond homes contract. We are 1 of 3 companies that they use. Havent had much action with the snow but we are forcasted to be up and running here in the next month. They are a good company, no complaints yet!

Ya, I got outbid...but I will sneak in at the last minute. He said that his reserve is at $11,500
 
$11,500? He's nuts, you can build that one new for maybe $12-$12.5, not have to deal with shipping costs, time, etc, and it would be brand new!

Good old MDC most of the supes were really good to deal with, I did the whole state from Castle Rock-north, wouldn't touch the Springs, too far and a wildly lower pay structure. I used to offer them a 50% discount if we didn't get a job done on the day it was scheduled (except for weather) never had to pay it once in 4 years.

I heard they combined the North, Denver, and Seasons division to one all under Matt Gilpin (really good guy, tough but if you take care of him he'll take care if you). Do they still do that crazy check pick up every 2 weeks with Jane? That lady is a trip, talk about a control freak.

I wonder how the guys lost all the biz? Might have been too much for them maybe, they never called me for any advice or anything hhmmm.

Good luck with the bid, I'll hang in, but bail long before $11500.

MDHC to be correct. :) We worked with a trade agent named Justin - but he was laid off, now we work with Sean. I have never met Jane, but yes your correct, you still pick up the ol' paycheck every 2 weeks. We are only on 3 communities and of course they are the farthest from our office.
 
If you're picking the checks up at the north office, ask if you can have it picked up at the main office instead, at Arapahoe Rd and Fiddlers Green Blvd, much closer to you guys.

I started with just one community and by 2 years later had all of them, showin up is 90% of the game in that business, I'm sure you'll do great with them!

We do use the DTC office - its at Greenwood plaza blvd now. Its so funny because we live right next to a new Richmond community and the guys that powerwash that community have this little dinky walmart karcher washer in the back of thier old datsun and they NEVER reclaim any of their water. Im not to sure on how they get away with that, because Richmond is a stickler for the EPA crap, I know if we rolled up and didnt throw out the vacuboom or sandsnakes we would be FIRED immediately.
