Looking for a used truck

Picked up this 97 3500 HD with a 6.5 Turbo, 5 speed, 135,000 miles on it. It needs some TLC which it's getting slowly but surely. It runs great. I fabricated a hitch for it and pulled my trailer on on of my routes that's about 275 miles round trip and had no problems with it so its a solid truck. Not exactly what I was looking for but for $2500.00 it was a no brainer. I'll get it painted and get some graphics on it pretty soon.image.jpg Sorry the pics are side ways. $2500 for that size of truck with those miles on it you really can't go wrong. Your $2500 truck can make the same money as a $60,000 truck, some say yours might break down more, but new ones visit the dealer for warranty work as well.

Great find, hope it continues to pay the bills!

it helps pay bills. It has a dump bed. Need some rock or dirt hauled?
 
It was mentioned in the thread that the dually only has a 500-700lb payload, ran across this which says other wise.

2005 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 - 2005Ram25003500Specs.pdf

Here is the 2014's which have a higher payload, but still a 1300-1500 lb difference in srw to drw.

You also get more stability and better handling while full. If you need to use this truck as a daily grocery getter though then you should maybe look into trailers and a 3/4 ton.

If you go regular body, small box and 2x4 you can cut the weights down and the increase the payloads as well on anything 3/4 ton and above.

I enjoy my dually, but it is only a work truck, always has a full tank, and since I need to go off road to get to the equipment the 4x4 is used.
