Geesh, you think they are bad now, maybe 15 years ago they did not have to be self contained like the one in the pic. All the grocery stores used to have "juice just ooozing out and stinking up the place some thing fierce.
I know this because I used to install and service compactors and bailers for a company called Philadelphia Tramrail. Actually, I believe it was the mid 80's when they made grocery stores go to self contained. The charging chamber, container, and every thing in between had to be welded solid, liquid tight to prevent the ooooze from coming out. I hated crawling in and under those packers in the summer because a limit switch was jammed or defective. Stinky gooey Groossss.
