How many guys were there total? I think I counted about 20 when I came in. I think that is the best one I have ever seen, you gotta give props to that guy who introduced that site, I can't remember his name but the first time I saw it was over at PTstate.
On a side not Thad talked about an event he is going to host in Loooooosiana in the summer, it sounded a lot different than the roundtables, almost like a convention. From what I gathered the focus would be on sales and marketing instead of pressure washing techniques and the like.
If he can put it together right, this would be well worth the price of airfare and hotel. I run in to too many guys in our industry that aren't marketing or can't close a deal. I will be the first person to admit that I know very little about these areas and any sales that I have gotten personally have been pure luck. The only way my company has been able to do over a million dollars is because I have a natural born salesmen closing accounts, I have been extremely lucky.
For those of you who have to market and sell your own stuff AND do the job yourself, I would say that this is one event you DO NOT want to miss. I would also suggest that if you have ever thought about bringing on a salesman, this would be the perfect event to bring him to in order to get him grooved in.
Scotty "Winchester" Karvonen brought up a great idea for the convention. Instead of just having a sales seminar, have guys drill how to close a client, then go out to neighborhoods around the convention site and actually try to close customers on pressure washing. Brilliant!!!
