Kohler not getting spark??

Having trouble starting my rig as my Kohler keeps turning over but isnt getting any spark..I turn it over smell gas but no spark...
what gives-its fairly new.

any help would be appreciated.

There is a grounding wire on the right side that might need to be attached. Sometimes it comes loose, other times it breaks.

ground wire is intact and secure as are the others..any other possibilities..

Have you actually pulled the plug with wire attached an physically confirmed no spark? I just know from personal experience of flooding and fouling the plug on a small engines it can seems as though you have no spark but its just inundate with fuel.

i did pull wire off and verified no spark..Faulty low oil cutoff??..would i not still get a spark??

How difficult is it to replace a faulty oil cutoff switch??

i started it yesterday- took a bit longer than ususal but did crank up-- ran it for about 5 minutes..then nothing today

Mike, I've done the same thing that Scott's talking about. Oil is low, switch kills the spark. Sits for a bit, oil drains back down into pan and it'll start. Runs for a bit, oil is depleted in pan and it dies again.

oil looked fine..i can add a bit..looked normal, gas was 1/2 full too

The oil switch is on top of the engine under the air filter. You could just unplug it to see if that's the problem.

Has anything been done to the engine lately that would involve the coils or wiring?

Russ-ill unplug it in the morning and try to start it..Nothing has been done to the machine as its fairly new..

any other possibilities if it isnt the oil switch??
