Is this used rig worth picking up?

Cleaning with Aloha
Found a used rig here locally. I've been thinking of building a bigger trailer. What do you guys think?

$3500 obo
6gpm 3500 psi Hydrotek w/ 115volt burner
two 190 gallon tanks
dual axle trailer
hose reel, surface cleaner, guns, tips, hose, etc.

machine has 2290 hours and is fairly worked! Diesel filter is dirty, water filter screen is missing, air filter dirty etc. The tanks have a lot of crap in the bottom.

I'm not super excited about the machine, but the trailer is cool. Do you think the machine has much life left in it if properly cleaned up and maintained?

Thanks

need pics...price ...ect to give an opinion

Ok now I know that its a Hydro Tek trailer set up...according to your post on the hours and condition......I would offer him 2500 since you will have to work on it to get it in shape

Yeah, it definitely will need some work and time.

I agree, I would offer less as it will need a lot of elbow grease, have everything washed out very good and make sure that there is nothing in the tanks that can ruin the pump like acids, bleach, etc...

I would have the fuel systems flushed out and the tanks cleaned too, you don't want to take any chances. Get that screen replaced, clean out the diesel filter, etc....

I would go ahead and have the pump seals replaced so it is ready to go because you can do all this work and get it running and find out that the pressure is only 2300psi and need seals. You are going to work on this anyway, what is a little more time to make sure it is ready to go?

Good Luck.

Never verified, but I've been told all the air cooled engined have a design life of 2000 hours. I've replaced mine at 3000. If you don't know what kind of maintenance has been done on it, be careful.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to make a low offer. I really am just interested in the tanks and trailer.

If your planning on doing the work on it yourself take pictures before you start and as you remove parts. Hydrotec units are a PITA to work on. Everything is jammed into such a small place and the parts aren't cheap either! A lot of parts can be replaced with standard stuff though.

I have one of the 8GPM versions of that rig and it works well but the belts keep going out on it and it's a pain in the #(*$#) to fix them.

Hey Chris, buy my rig and your all set..check out my post on the Beast 4 sale..

Nick - What would it cost to ship that to Hawaii?

Can you deliver it?

If you get that trailer, I would go ahead and put the money aside for new engine. I have almost 2000hours on my B&S Vanguard and it is running fine. A good friend of mine has over 3700hours on his B&S Vanguard 21hp. Just keep changing the oil and filters.

You never know how long the engines will last so prepare to replace it if you buy that rig.
