JW raised my insurance rates also. My truck is insured with Traveler's and their rates went up also.
Insurance rates will ALWAYS go up... fact of life and business. My only one that hasn't is my 30 year term life.
I have never done anything but send them a check for 4 years. Occasionally call for a Certificate which is the only purpose I need them for. My home and vehicles are with someone local. Always will be. I would hate to know how it would be if I needed them if its taking two weeks to find out why my premium jumped. They must be a broker. That's some really bad PR for Joe Walters Insurance. Their name has been thrown around a lot lately about how reasonable they are and the fact that they have been insuring PW companies for years. I thought about calling to get a quote. I'll rethink that thought after hearing this. There has to be a good reason for raising your rate. Or maybe not!

I recently went to renew and my premium was doubled as well so I got a quote from Joe Walters that was less than what I was originally paying. I used to be with Joe Walters and left for a similar reason of a package deal years back. I will be going back with Joe Walters as it is still a better rate and like someone else said they have always been helpful and responsive. I have Workman's Comp through Paychex and their Pay-by-Pay Service. With all vehicles and total insurance it is about $14,700/year.
Spoke with my now previous insurance company and they told me that because of all the storms and weather related issues last year that insurance companies are raising their rates. She also said that NJ folks are getting hit with some of the worst increases because of Super Storm Sandy. In other words, EVERYONE in NJ is paying for the homes and properties that were damaged. I guess as a business model that with all the money that was given out during these type of storms that they raise prices company wide to recoup money. It's an explanation but no one I agree with.
Ron, I don't like any payroll companies to be honest with you. I use them because for the money it saves on documentation and record keeping. This also works for my benefit if ever audited which I have been 3 times in the past.
