Injector + Variable Pressure Wand

Yup, another downstream injector question.

I just recently switched to a variable pressure wand. Same trigger, just changed out the wand past the gun. Prior to the switch, I could draw soap just fine. Now, when turning down the pressure on the variable pressure wand, I can't draw anything. No other changes were made to my setup. Do I need to get a different injector?

First thing I'd do is remove the wand and try a soap nozzle in just the trigger,..or even without a nozzle. I prefer a nozzle simply because sometimes when you hit the trigger without a nozzle in the coupler,
the o-ring gets blown 1/2 mile away.
