Jason,

There is a rotating foam ball available for the foamer that will allow you to coat the vertical ducts with foam.

Larry

I've got to see this. I'm guessing you'll need a larger compressor to power the spinner.

Hey Matt, is this NFCA approved?

Here is the skinny on the spinner:

It is basically a plastic rotating union that works under the pressure of your normal air compressor, no special compressor needed. It is in no way associated with the mosmatic duct spinner and it will not pull anything down a duct. It is strictly for long verticals and would be a waste of money for anyone that is not doing verticals over 3 stories. They run close to $150 bucks and all they do is spin around and throw foam. Granted they are a very cool attachment for the foamer and work very well but there are other ways to get foam down a long duct.

For anyone that is intersted in foaming, I would suggest Delco as the place to buy. I was lucky when I first started out that I found the manufacurer of the foamer and he was still small enough to sell direct. I get them from the manufacturer because I have an account there but If I am not mistaken you must get them from distributers now and Delco is as good as any if not better. I may be wrong on this but I think I originally hooked Delco and the manufacturer up back in the 90's as there were no power washing distributers selling these units and that may be why he left my account open.

Do yourself a favor and I say this from the bottom of my heart and anyone who has used one will back me up: buy a foamer and use it.

oh man they pulled my post....listened learned ....cuddle those who have the clout....or be gone.....

That's two quotes in one week that I'm going to save. You should write a book.:p

I read it before it was removed, you shouldn't call people names, it's not nice.

you may right .... no you are right..... but what's done is done.

oh and about the book thing your not the first one to say that to me

not important..... how have you been ?

The foamer will work off of a small air compressor

How small a compressor does it take Larry? One of those small Sears tire inflaters or 3 gallon pancake kind to make foam? It goes without saying, carrying one more thing into a kitchen and we'll have no run to move around.

Thanks for adding your expertise to this board.

5 -cfm 35-55 psi minimum. you can put the compressor anywhere and just run the air hose into the kitchen, or foam up and then remove the foamer and the compressor for the rest of the job.

Grant,
5 -cfm 35-55 psi minimum
That's slightly more than a pancake compressor. More like a 10 -25 gallon compressor. I take it that your company has made the leap to foam. Are yu pleased with the outcome?

foamers

Can someone turn me on to what is needed to make a foamer? I know the basics and have spents hours working on one. Even bought a 175.00 pump up foamer from foamit. That dam thing will kill you, you have to constantly pump to get foam> I kid you not it takes over a hour to foam small hood, another item that doesnt work. Will pay for help if thats what it takes. Gotta get the foam going!!

Some of our crews use it, some don't. It works in most, but not all applications. We used more foam about 5-6 years ago. Maybe its time to reinvest in more equipment and push it again, or not.

5 cfm at 40 psi sound good, we like running ours around 80 or 90 psi so we need a little more cfm. If you run them around 40 you can only shoot so far unless so we turn them up. We burned out one of the FI-JR models doing this, expensive lesson:D

Robin, get the Man Foamer 5 from Delco and a 5-7 cfm @ 40 psi compressor and you will finish hoods in seconds. Here is a rerun of a video I did when we hooked one of ours up to a 6 cfm @ 40psi compressor. If you time it you will see that it took about 20 seconds to cover this hood.

I even went over it a couple of times so technically it could have been done faster. It was an 8-12 ft hood.

Ok, Matt,
we took the FOAM plunge and ordered a mean foamer 5 I will let everyone know how well it works (or not). I just want to know if the music comes witht he foamer
