Incoming PWNA Pres

I heard from several sources that the new president of PWNA is going to be an emplyee of one of the founder members. A person who once had a small company in South Bend and closed it down so he could go to work for a larger company. A person who knows far less about your concerns and is far less concerned about you since he has a regular paycheck. It sounds like slim pickins at the PWNA headquarters. If I were you folks I would question why out of 300 members they had to appoint (only 60 voted) Doc Riesman as president. That's the ultimate slap in the face to you loyal members who thought it was on the up and up. Check it out!

I haven't heard as of yet who the new President is but if it is Doc Riesman I don't think your story has any merit. Just because he gets a steady paycheck that doesn't make him any less of a candidate. In these tough times to get a steady paycheck who can knock that?? Its a smart thing to do if anything.

Also since he is(Or was) the first Vice President then he is earning his stripes. ITs not like he just joined yesterday.

Last but not least if only as you say 60 people voted then that is the fault of the membership not Doc Riesman. As for voting I remember voting about a month for I think board members. Beth from SEE DIRT RUN(Hint Hint) was on this list. I don't recall seeing a slot where we vote for President. I don't even know how they pick there next president.

Can a PWNA board Member(Mike??) explain how the presidents are elected.

Like I said Indiana Jones and don't take this personally but the way you put your post I can't find any Merit in it. If your suggesting something was done Improperly then thats another story but I did not get that from your post. Sorry

That's odd ! No presidential slot to vote for ! My mistake! Oh, wait, that's right, the new president is appointed by the executive committee. Darn it!@ ! that makes sense, now.

Looks like you guys may need some clarity on elections and the executive board.

Board Positions
The PWNA membership votes for 4 board position every year. There are 13 positions on the board. Twelve of those positions are voted on and one is filled by the immediate past president. Board positions are for 3 years, hence the reason for 4 positions every year.

Executive Baord Positions
At the end of the annual board meeting, elected board member hold an election for the executive committee. This is when executive committee is formed and it is when the President is elected and voted on. In the past it has been the natural progression for the 1st VP to become the next president. Normally, this person has moved up the chain of executive position to eventually fill the Presidency, though this has not always been the case. Generally, the board has to decide whom among us is the best qualified and willing to devote the time and effort to the position.

As the current Immediate Past President I honestly can say that the position eats up about 20 to 30 hours a week. If Doc Riesman is willing and he gets the nomination, he is qualified and has the time to devote to the association and its future growth. I will support the nomination. I know Docs situation and I am very thankful that his current employer is will support Doc if he gets the nomination.

Indiana Jones it sounds like for whatever reason you have something against Doc, have you ever met him?

I would hate to hear your opinion on Michael Hinderliter since his Father was one of the I think 10 people who started the PWNA in the first place, would you say he did not earn his position?

I voted for 4 people, you start on the bottom and work up, if you do your job and the other board members feel you can handle it better then them OR you want it bad enough you can play politics and talk to each of them about what your plans would be IF they vote for you.

Just because Doc does not smile in his MUG SHOT does not mean he won't fill the shoes.

Chris Detter did a great job, Michael did a great job too so why won't Doc continue the steer the ship in the right direction?

I had not had the pleasure of working with Doc, until last fall when I was preparing for the Pittsburgh show. Doc answered many questions for me, and could not have been more helpful at the show. He went out of his way (as did all the other officers and board members) to make sure I had what I needed, and he never stood in the same spot for long. He was all over the convention, organizing, making sure things went smoothly. Doc is a hard working person with tons of enthusiam. He is also very energetic, and his energy is positive and welcome.

For those of you who don't know Doc, get to know him. He's a great guy! If someday he is ever nominated, I see nothing wrong in it.

Beth

First off indy, I will only assume you live by Doc to know so much about him. I would first like to say congratulation if this is true. I also would like to ad that Doc seems to be a good guy. I know he works for Ducts and that’s his choice. I have many qualified employees that I feel could also do the job. Because a man chooses a different path in life than myself doesn’t qualify him as a failure.

Doc Reisman is part of a pretty successful team of people in the hOod cleaning busz. I would like to challenge that he probably might make more than most contractors. I don’t know his salary but I would guess to give up your own show it was worth it.

Secondly I would like to congratulate Chris Detter for the wonderful job he has done.

InDy , you are attacking and individual and I really don’t like that. I have been attack and I seriously don’t have time for folks like you. You hide behind your ip and type slanderous things about people maybe you have never met. You can say what you want about the PWNA and I might join you as long as you’re a pro. This time you’re over the professional boundaries.

Mike & the others mods of this BBS, when are we going to demand people post there real identity?

Indiana has his view and the powers brokers of PWNA have made their selections- and that is the way it is. Is this the best way for a body of members to select the leader of that body. Put up a poll and see. They will run this body as they see fit.

Then what do we know as to the overall plan??

David:(

It seems to be a pretty fair system to me. We the Members vote in the Board and they vote in the President.

If your a member then vote for the board members that you want in and hopefully the represent somewhat the same beliefs that you have.

It wouldn't make to much sense to vote in someone that has no experience whatsoever with the runnings of the PWNA. That is why Board members have the oppurtunity to one day be the President of the PWNA.

If you want to make a major impact yourself then if you are a member then run for a board position. Then take it from there.

David how about you set up a poll on how to vote for the President for the PWNA. I would but I have NO problem the way they do it becuase like I said us MEMBERS vote on the Board members and that gives them the chance to one day be the President.

Indiana Jones,

Are you a member of PWNA, if not then you really have no say in how things work out and whom they choose for President.

Join then voice your feelings by how you vote.

I have met Doc but not as some others have, he was in Vegas 5 years ago but as Beth said he moves around so much it was a hi I'm Jon, hi I'm Doc and he was gone.

Please clean up your way of posting so your not attacking others here and you will always be welcome, keep attacking and us Mods will have to decide how to deal with you and I don't want that to happen.

Jon

PWNA

I appreciate the support and kind words. Like many of the people who are on the board or members have dedicated countless hours to the organization without the expectation of anything more then making us a better place for pressure cleaners. Although it is hard to digest harsh criticism it merely states that a serious lack of understanding is still present within our industry. I am proud to be on the board and serve under our current president Chris Detter. If anyone would like to speak with me further, please contact me at the following numbers.
