I'm Guilty

What a tool !

I like how he saw it coming at the last second.

Thats what we used to call suckface back in school.

New law in Mass. Caught texting while driving a commercial vehicle it is a $2700.00 fine.

Last night I found my self sitting in traffic cause a young lady texting buried her Nissan sports car 3/4 of the way up the rear of an F-350.

Most states have laws now,but it doesn't stop people from doing it and it's even harder to enforce. The cops even say it's hard to prove someone isn't dialing a call.

Scott Cali is different, I was just handling the device. He explained I could get a ticket. He warned me, I think because I have AZ plates an looked like a Tourist he just warned me, he did write a warning ticket on the second stop. So now they know, if i get stopped again the cop has record. You can't even technically adjust your radio while operating vehicle.

This was funny they nailed a women putting on makeup while I was receiving a warning. They actually had a sting op set up on the corner. These where cops walking around cars at lights.

There are literally millions who drive, text, talk listen to the radio, put on make-up and do all kinds of things without harming anyone.

SLAP, SLAP, SLAP! WAKE UP AMERICA!

It's not a crime to do something stupid if it doesn't hurt anybody else. It's just another revenue stream for the cops to buy more body armor and equipment to take out your mother at a traffic stop if she doesn't "comply" fast enough. It's just another revenue stream of advertisers for the media when they do a 20/20 segment on little suzy who died while texting.

Meanwhile the police have another reason to stop citizens who have done nothing to harm anyone.

What is the fix you ask? The fix is to NAIL SOMEBODY'S ASS when they are texting and DO harm someone. Make them pay for the rest of their lives if they cause irreparable harm.

What has become of this country?

You people are asking for exchanging freedom for security. As Ben Franklin stated - by doing so you "DESERVE NEITHER".

Against my better judgement but since me and Tony are friends who have alot of similar views and also some opposite views I'm going to respond to what he said... There's alot of reasons why there are Revenue streams put into place and no it's not all for the cops. Most of it goes towards the town, the county, the city or the state.

When I worked in an "A" House in the city(A House is a precinct that is a very high crime area and in my case it was Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn NY in the late 80's the cops who wrote alot of tickets the bosses loved. The guys who made to many arrest were kept inside. This is the beat cops. Most cops didn't care for the other cops who wrote tons of tickets and there are reasons for that which I'm not going to go there on the net.

Most tickets are revenue streams. Some tickets should be written such as the Guy who decides to drive up on the sidewalk to go around a light. Or the guy who decides to do 110 mph down a residential area..

Some tickets have to be written. Other tickets are written because the community complains about speeders for example shooting down certain roads so the cops are told this and there might be more enforcement done there to deter people from speeding.. Those are the facts. A ton of other tickets are written because they bring in revenue. One of them now here which is law is camera's at red lights. I just received my 5th ticket from the camera's and 3 of them are because I stopped at a red light and then proceeded to go thru it making a right turn which is legal....except I didn't stop come to a complete stop for 3 seconds..so I got a pin code thru the mail so I can watch the video of what I did and I have to pay $50.

They try to tell the people here this is done for safety reasons.... Bull. More people are locking them up at yellow lights...but the biggest thing is these Camera's have generated in one county alone at only so many lights over $27,000,000 last year. So Tony's theory about revenue streams is partially correct.

But some tickets have to be written. The reason why I'm responding to this post is because I am as guilty as the next guy at times texting while driving. For years in law enforcement I had a laptop bolted in the patrol car that I can type while driving to run a plate etc(I hardly ever used it and no I didn't go on the net on it to visit the boards). But still I shouldn't be texting while driving. I tell my daughter the same thing who is about to get her license with her road test this Friday.

About 4 yrs ago a mile from our house a girl name Olivia who was a dancer here at one of the schools and was about 15 was in the back seat of a car full of kids with one of the Dads driving. They got hit head on by a person who was apparently playing with his phone. The father died at the scene and Olivia is paralyzed from the waste down to this day. My daughter and friends do charity fund raising dances for this girl..

So I know Tony is not going to sway his mind that cops do everything for cops and people should be able to do anything they want with Zero repercussions until they do screw up.... But at that point it may be to late like it was for this Girl Olivia and the father who was driving the kids..
Just a different point of view.

It's only a $159+ ticket here Ron. From the way everyone drives in my city you wouldn't think there was such a law. Every time I turn around there is someone texting or has a phone up to their ear talking.

It's not illegal unless you get caught for it.

This week they are starting a seat-belt enforcement campaign. I get lazy or forget to put it on. But then it doesn't help that I disabled to seat-belt reminder in my truck either. I just hate the ding-ding-ding noise when I'm working and only have to move the truck a few feet.

I am only allowed to text when my wife isnt with me.

You people are asking for exchanging freedom for security. As Ben Franklin stated - by doing so you "DESERVE NEITHER".

Sounds simple (and right) to me

Here's a starting point:

Exodus 21:18 “If people quarrel and one person hits another with a stone or with their fist[d] and the victim does not die but is confined to bed, 19 the one who struck the blow will not be held liable if the other can get up and walk around outside with a staff; however, the guilty party must pay the injured person for any loss of time and see that the victim is completely healed.

See, this is where our system of justice has become perverted. In our system the ACT is judged independently of the results. This is in stark contrast to biblical justice. We have taken the providence of God out of the equation and have determined to produce justice on our own.

God knows the hearts of each of us. Do any of us believers think for one minute that he can't easily manipulate results based on the condition of a person's heart?

For example, one man hits another. God knows the man's evil heart will only result in further destruction. The man dies. The guilty party is put to death. Problem solved.

On the other hand one man hits another. God knows the man's heart was motivated by temporary evil that took over his heart. God assures no permanent harm comes to the victim, thus assuring that the aggressor is not put to death.

We, on the other hand, seek to make both equal, and destroy the entire concept of justice! We water it down and put the first aggressor on probation if he has a good lawyer and put the second in prison for 5 years for aggravated assault if he has a bad lawyer. We have destroyed justice.

Before anyone wants to dispute whether God intervenes in situations like these, I'd offer the following verse:

Exodus 21:12 “Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death. 13 However, if it is not done intentionally, but God lets it happen, they are to flee to a place I will designate. 14 But if anyone schemes and kills someone deliberately, that person is to be taken from my altar and put to death.

Speaking of victimless crimes - I personally don't like this guy - Penn Jillette - I disagree with most of his politics and all of his views on theology. I don't approve of the language he uses in this video.

But I am in 100% agreement with his point here and could not have made the point any better:

On revenue stream you guys are both nuts, not one government entity has ever made a nickel.

Text me anytime for question 480-522-5227
And where did you get that info. Is your information sources coming from Sponge Bob Square pants again.lol
Skirt the facts to fit your needs but you can't change them.
This should flatlined your above remarks.. Stick to Powerwashing Ron cause law you pretty much like the blind leading the blind.
Deny it but this is the facts and it didn't come from Sponge Bob Square pants........

Traffic Tickets
Where do cities and towns find extra revenue during tough economic times? The answer is from traffic citations and speeding tickets. Speeding tickets are often referred to as "hidden taxes", because they allow governments to collect revenue from residents and non-residents alike. A study by the Journal of Law and Economics found "statistical evidence that local governments use traffic citation to make up for revenue shortfalls."

The study showed that speeding tickets and traffic fines increased the year after a decline in revenue. Local governments love traffic tickets because there is no limit on how many can be issued. The next time you are going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone, consider that you could be traveling through a town in search of much needed tax revenue.
