Is there any way to get that off after it has dried into the asphalt? If not, I know it will not be a perfect match, but could it be covered up with some type of paint to atleast blend it back to a black color?

Failure to pre-wet and rinse completely are the number 1 reason this happens.
I won't touch freshly sealed properties for several weeks.I have shown up twice on restaurant properties the clean only to find the sealing company there as well.We notify management we can't clean and will be back in a couple of week.
Unfortunately the damage is done and even if washed out to the drain it will not look like the rest of the lot.
My question for Ron is what chem is his crew using that doesn't leave the dreaded burn?Caustics are very effective and if the prep and rinse are done right they are hard to beat,but if there is a safer alternative I'm all ears.

You can use caustic if its a safe mixture, everyone thinks the hotter the better. Until someone is burned, then we are not touching caustics.

Scott Rinsing better might have helped but i'm affraid this is so hot the asphalt seal is gone.

It has been a year and a half....Do you have time now??? Hahaha!
Here are a couple from a Concrete Cleaning job we did for an HOA. They had just had the streets resealed the week before and the Concrete we had to Clean hadn't been done in 13yrs. This job took us 3 days (110 Villas plus ClubHouse) and it rained every night after we were done Cleaning and rinsed all the residue off the sealer and everything came out great.

If you soak down the Ashphalt before during and after you wont have any problems. I think if it was brand new Ashphalt I would stay away from that job for awhile and give it a chance to set up.
