RON M we too are a in a drought emergency. The only diffrence is here in NJ we like to use our 0deg tips to drill for water in the dirt not the cement. That way will work but it will take more time[not much].
I wonder if that contractor uses the same method for fleetwashing? Why clean the dirt of the paint when its as simple as just removing the paint?
Maybe all that oil made the cement soft in that spot? to fix just take a mix of crazy glue and sand. If that wont work just call J walters.
Never mind contractors like that never even thought about talking to a guy like JW
Its stuff like this that makes the need for a camara as important as having insurance. The next guy that wash's better have proof of stuff like that before he starts that job.

that etching is everywhere, we did the job. you bet that we made the customer aware and thy signed off that the damage was already there.

i forgot to tell you that the customer was charged by this contractor 75.00 per hour to damage and not clean the store. 8.5 hours. made me laugh and made me sick!!!!!!!!

Ron M

This is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been hoping that somebody would post.

Do you know what, if anything, the guy used for chemicals? Do you know what he used for equipment?

To me, it looks like he used a 15-degree tip and either inconsistent pressure or he kept getting to close to the surface – or both.

The exposed aggregate makes me think that he went at that spot full tilt trying to get something off the surface.

That's what I think happened, based on very limited experience. I’d luv to hear what you, or anybody else, thinks the guy did wrong.

Thanks.

Hey Ron,
If you think that is bad you should go look at the front walk of the Fuddruckers at Superstition Springs ( A Local Mall) I think that store would take the prize for concrete damage.

i thought that my sarcastic post pretty much covered what they did wrong?
0 deg tips should be outlawed.
that pic is of a oil spot that was removed with a 0 deg tip, 3000psi, and a dumb ass.
the etching was prob. muratic acid that was let dry and not kept wet.
at 8 hours that contractor prob. did not even have a surface cleaner.

squirt, he didnt use a zero nozzle. concrete in arizona is sub standard. you can etch it with a butter knife.

anyway, as scott points out theres another one. I know the contractor that damaged that fuddruckers. He doesnt do that job anymore.LOL

its all over the place here. contrators that dont know what there doing.

Office complex that was done by one of my fellow pressure washers….

This medical office building was done last weds, the photos your looking at where taken 04/02/02 I cant believe my eyes sometimes.

This customer called to day and said that she was told by the company it would look better after a few more washes .LOL

Anyway we went to measure it this afternoon and we took a photo demo. You should be surprised about what you see.

We have and appointment onsite in the morning. Wish me luck, I will tell you how this one turns out.

What's up with the second picture up..............that concrete looks like asphalt!

Paul Freeman what is wrong with using a 15° nozzle, I use one all the time without damage, in fact I never use my zero and so seldom use my turbo I tend to forget I have them.

Ron how come you don't use a surface cleaner for demo's? I doubt your guys use a wand to do the whole job yet it appears that is what was used for the demo.

Sub-standard concrete in AZ, Oh my gosh, and they talk about cutting corners here in CA. Sounds like your building inspectors are a bit lax.

Squirt cannot outlaw Zero nozzles, they make great weapons with the hot water when working at night, say a group of tough gang members heads towards you, that zero will do some damage before the get you. I mean just think about 180° water and a 0° nozzle hitting them right in the face.

You guys are just waking up and here it is 4:35 AM and I am just going to bed.

Thats what a 9mm w/ 124grain hydra-shocks are for. Oops you are in Cali. forgot your State govt dosent trust you to defend yourself :(.

Hey Sal,
Why use a girl gun? I carry a Glock .45 with Speer Gold Dots. When you care enough to send the very best!

Ron's got a point guys, many people read these posts. One of the wonderful things about the idea of a "concealed carry permit" is the fact that it's "concealed", so the entire world doesn't know you carry, nor should they. Comprende Amigo?

Lance the only problem in CA is getting that CCP to start with, have to fill out more paper work then worth and prove beyond a doubt we need protection that the cops cannot offer us.

I have the paper work, one of the first things I need is a letter from my local police department chief saying they cannot or do not issue permits and "that" I qualify for one.

Then it just gets worst so I said forget it, if I carry it is with risk. I just don't bid or do jobs in gang areas if I can avoid it.

Not worth the money, I love my wife to much to not come home some morning, I love my grandson too and want to be around long enough to watch him growing up.

Jon

Actually Jon, my post was directed more towards the fact that we shouldn't really be talking about carrying weapons in this public forum. I'm sure most of us do, whether it's a nice 5 iron or an aluminum bat (wood breaks)...;) Or in this case a gun. Whatever floats your boat.

Just like you never really want to watch them make sausage if you ever want to eat it again. There's just some things we shouldn't be talking about here in public. If we are talking about reclamation of water I don't want some tree huggers seeing one of us post about how that person gets around the "laws" regardless of what you feel those laws are doing to us. In that same light, I don't want to see guys posting here that they carry guns for protection and boasting about it when some of our more liberal leaning friends may be lurking around and somebody ends up losing a customer over it. Just one of those subjects you really want to keep to yourself about because of public perception.

Comprende Amigo? :)
