How these Boards

Man, how these boards have changed in 6 months, when I first found this board and Dans, they were positive and very imformative and may I even say friendly, I dont visit as much anymore, not because I don't get a lot of good advice from some of the threads, but because I don't like gushings of negativity, a little is fine, but the last month its been ridiculous.

What's up Gav,

My 'cards and your Enron Astros are coming down to a tight ending!! Should be fun!

Very true post you just made, i imagine some of that may have been directed at the post I made regarding the Cody Post. In lieu of all the recent problems on the board, my timing may have been poor. But my hope was that we could all discuss and respond to this matter in a professional way without being negative. I generally don't discuss anything but nuts and bolts kind of stuff, I don't come on here looking for a fight like some do. But i feel this is an important topic that needs to be discussed and looked at for the sake of all of us. Heck, I'm closing down business in a couple of weeks/months so it really does not matter to me except for that it will hurt people that i've become friends with. I never even see any competitors around me, so i have no ill-will toward any newbies. But I think it will hurt the industry as a whole which i've dedicated 6 yrs to, and I am protective of that.

Not trying to start a rant Gav, just wanted you to know why I started a post that you may have construed as being negative.

Jon, no it wasn't directed at you or your post, it was directed at the tone of the boards in general over the last month or so. In fact your post IMO was far from a rant, I saw it as your opinion and asking for others to share theirs, which, by the way I will, but not untill Ive put some thought into my answer, as it seems you put some thought into the post. A lot of quality posters seemed to have dissapeared since I found these boards, for what reason? I don't know, but I certainly have my thoughts on the matter!
By the way I'm taking the family to see the Astros smack the Reds for my sons b'day on sunday, the race is on!!!

Gav,

It goes in cycles. You havent been around in bb land long enough to know it...........but this happens every summer and winter..............in the two slowest times of the year. People get some attitude when things get slower.........

I agree with Mike. They get worked up when the stress levels rise and they are not as busy as they would like to be or need to be.

Astro's and Reds are where behind the Cards???????? If the Cards don't pull the grey matter out of there sitting organ then you guys may have a chance!!!!!!! LOL. This is one of the slowest August' I've seen. Thanks ENRON and WorldCom and all the other big companies taking advantage of the "people". I wish they would stop the after hours trading and let everyone be on equal ground when in it comes to trading stocks. Seems the "big boys" always set the market and the "people" are told "let them eat cake".

Remember, real estate may be a better investment. They aren't making more of that now are they!!
