How much does your rig weigh?

No, I am not bringing ANY TURBO TWISTER. This is a big part of our cleaning ability along with the high heat.

So if you come out to Las Vegas, I will let you and anybody who owns a med. size hot water pressure washer to try it.

Just a note here to everyone. When we measure our trailer weight, we are measuring the weight at the axles ( the 4 tires) of the trailer WHILE hooked up to the truck. Our goose neck is 2,200 LBS. at the tongue. This weight is carried by the truck and NOT THE TRAILER.

So if everyone disconnects their trailer from their truck, and then weighs it, that is the gross weight of the trailer, However that is not whats at your axles. The tires on the trailer is what the California Highway Patrol weighs your rig as.

For those who has a Class 4 hitch, up to 1,000 to 1,200 LBS can be transferred to the truck depending on your hitch that is installed to your truck. A goose neck can handle up to 6 times that or more.

Greg could you post a pic of your rig, or redirect us to a post with a pic of your rig.

Chris what is the length of your trailer, and the combined vehicle length?

The trailer is a 14' plus the 4' neck makes it 18' long but the truck is a 2005 Dodge Quadcab longbed, not sure how long that is but together it does not make it into a lot of those 1/2 circle driveways.

+1....I love my truck. Only a half ton, but It pulls like a champ. Its an 06 and ive got around 65k miles w/ only minor work thats been needed while it was under warranty. Brake will be soon, but overall no issues.

Nice setup Scott. It sure must be nice to just roll that puppy in a secure dry garage.

Any pics Chris, you can direct to a previous post.

Our Red truck with 5 man crew full of fuels (100 gas, 150 Lp) 1000 gallons water, and supplies to do fleet work 33,940 pounds. 10,660 steer axle, 23,260 drive axle. We have it plated for 36,000 lbs.

If it is in your budget, get an H2, they are by far the best vehicle I have ever had.

Your telling me that an H2 is a good tow vehicle? How much weight are we talking about?

Most of the new H2 come thru with 6.0 engine, hardly enough motor to tow anything heavy, and their suspension is not rated to tow any more than a 1500 series truck?

Cant say Ive seen an H2 do anything good but look stupid.

I hope yall that are towing these massive weights have a vehicle capable of towing it. And I dont mean can it move the load, I mean is it rated to tow that much. And very few vehicles can tow to their max tow rating, unless you have nothing in the truck itself.

It does not sound like he has a lot of weight to tow. If he has a lot of weight, a Hummer would not do it for him.

when the flatbed breaks down work will stop. on a trailer you just rent a truck and keep going

I used to think that way too until my truck spun a bushing in the overdrive unit back in 2006 (still under warranty back then).

The truck was in the shop for a week while the part came in from out of state.

I could not find a truck to rent to pull my trailer. I tried my brother's 1/2 ton truck but the trailer had way too much tongue weight and his truck squat down so much I thought the springs would break.

I called everyone in town and they all told me that they did not have any 3/4 ton trucks but 2 places could get me one but it would take 1.5 to 2 weeks for them to get here.

I asked the guy at U-Haul how much those pickups or box trucks could pull but they would not be strong enough.

Another problem was that my garage offset from the driveway compared ot the house was at a bad angle and there was no way to get a larger truck back there or a box truck with the wires overhead or the metal fence or the stairs.

Another problem was that if you got a truck to rent, you need a brake controller so you can stop that trailer, it is heavy, especially if the water tank is full of water.

I always hoped that if I had a problem I could just rent another truck but it is easier said than done in this town. Other cities will probably be no problem at all.

With the truck in the shop at that time, I lost a lot of money from work that I could not do for one of my best customers at that time because I did not have a truck to pull the trailer.

Now the best option would be to just have another truck with a brake controller so you would be prepared for the worst at all times.

Too bad I don't have an extra truck yet, hopefully later on this year I will.
