How much does your rig weigh?

I think I calculated 300 - 400 pounds in my Ranger. The only water I carry is in the radiator so maybe..........20 pounds.

I got pulled over by DOT and they took out the portable scales. My trailer empty was @ 10,200 lbs with no water, filled with water i would be right @ 15,000 lbs..

Thats why i had to raise my GVW on my registration to 26,000 lbs, because they count it as a combined Truck & Trailer weight.

What's all on your rig? I guess Ill be needing another vehicle ... the SUV won't go over 2,000 lbs towing capacity with a trailer w/ trailer breaks. POS KIAs!

Last year I took my trailer onto the scales and it weighed 3400 pounds without water in the tank, full it would be around 6100 more or less. It used to be a lot heavier with the extra tool boxes, tools, pails of chemicals, etc...

I took most of that stuff off now after bending an axle and having to replace it and 2 tires.

Don't mess around trying to pull it with a vehicle that's too small. I had a truck that was too small at first and then upgraded to a more capable tow vehicle. It was totally worth it. I felt like that poor little truck was going to blow up at any minute!

Our Trailer empty without water, hoses and fuel is just over 11,000 LBS. We have made the trailer as compact as possible for Parking Garage Cleaning at 14 ft long. Floor bed is 3/8 diamond Plated Steal NOT the standard industries limit of 1/4 inch.

With 12 to 15 (100 ft 1.5 inch) Rubberized Fire Hoses and Water Tank at 350 Gallons, 4 inch 300 ft rubber hose, and with the 115 Gallon Diesel Tank full, we are about 15,000 LBS. Axles had to be replaced because the 12k axles bent from being over the weight limit. We upgraded to dexter rubber ride 16k axles.

Do you pull that with a KIA?

I have always wondered what our rig weighs. I think we will run it through the scales tomorrow.

Anyone want to make a guess?

Where you pulled over in your state?

What was the process to get the registration?

Did you have to put a DOT # on the truck?

Filled with water I would say GCVWR just about 10,500 lbs

When i first started I had 3 330 gallon totes on my trailer and 2 cold units. thats 990 gallons at 8.2lbs per gallon making for 8118lbs of water not counting tanks, trailer, and misc.

I pulled it with an explorer but struggled to get up the hill leaving my house. I had to keep it floored to maintain 40 mph climbing the hill.

Upgrading is a very good choice in those circumstances and likewise in yours as well. Be sure to check into the market and see what the best choice is for you. At the time I was working for the car lots and had been for the previous 6 years. I knew everyone and had a really good idea what they were putting into the trades. If you want a diesel you should have been looking about 3 months ago. My truck has went up 10,000 in value since 3 months ago when diesel was 4.50 per gallon
