insurance
Be a bit more specific, business liability or motor vehicle insurance? I pay about $2400 a ;year for liability insurance. Our services include exhaust cleaning, protable fire extinguishers, fire alarm, fire sprinklers, emergency lighting, fire suppression sytem in resturants, vehicles, industry and SCBA service. Our coustomer base includes fire departments, health care facilities, schools. military installations, ordinary retail establishments, and government agencies, all of whhich may make a difference in the rate.Vehicle insurance is about $1000, bond is about $800.00. Be aware that the rate you pay may be based upon an estimated gross income, if your gross goes up, so does your insurance bill. Before I hire anyone, I ask Anne, my vehicle insurance agent, for permission. I don't hire if they cannot drive my service trucks. Other factors not listed in previous posts are the area you are in, metro areas have higher rates than rural. the amount and type of training you and your employyes have may make a difference. Shop around, local usually offers better insurance service, if not rates. That said, I deal locally for some of my insurance and 300 miles away for some insurance. go for 2 million in liability, not much difference in cost. Deal only w/ an agent who deals mostly in commercial policies. Some commercial accounts will require 2 million, and may require being listed on the policy. (UPS for one) Carry copies of insurance, bond, licensing, with you, and include copies in estimates. We have gotten several accounts because our main competitor does not always bother w/insurance.
