This was a post that I started on another BBS and was very successful. I thought I would ad it here and maybe we could complete the list for others.

The best marketing is doing quality work and responding quickly to any problems that arise..........this ensures good word of mouth, and referrals.

I rely heavily on the Yellow Pages. (residential)

Business Cards For Customers to hand out!

We are still receiving calls from Business Cards that we handed out years ago. After each job give the customer a few cards to give to his friends. In new developments it works out great. Most of the men in Florida play golf or go fishing. They come in contact with men & women every day. First thing they ask each other is,"who washes your house or mows your lawn"? If they are carrying your cards they will gladly give them out. Anna

I once washed 1/2 the steps on the front of a church on a SAT and left a yard sign out.
PRO-WASH
WORK IN PROGRESS
THEN THE PHONE #
I did it so there was a clean side and the dirty side. Then went back on MONDAY to finnish.
It was a freebie that landed me about 6 customers that still use me.

How about Networking?

I just ordered 1000 magnets to send out with Holiday cards.

Great way to use magnets! :) You'll have to scan one and post it when they arrive.

Great Idea. Did you do anything to ensure the Customer will take that magnet and place it on the frig, etc?

example put 2003 Calendar on the magnet

With all the so call junk mail we customers receive - it is so easy to pitch the whole thing in the trash. The idea of sending it with a xmas card is good. Especially in the off-season around xmas time - cold weather - the last thing on a persons mind is exterior washing.

Customer Decision:

Nice card do I put it on display with the others or throw it away?

oh, what this? - a magnet.

Do I put this on my frig or toss it?

**Help them find a need to keep that magnet. Example 2003 Calendar. Most will not be needing the service in the winter and statistics shows that if a service is not needed in the near future, it will be tossed.

Since they are existing customers - they may see the appreciation and feel a sense of loyalty - putting it on the frig.

Just food for thought.

Coaching baseball, soccer and helping out with wrestling has brought in work that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. I've got jobs just being parked at the ballfield (with the truck lettered of course). The more people you know, the work you can get.

Your exactly right - Networking.

I too coach year around - soccer, softball, & basketball - The same is true.

Welcome to the board - this is an awesome board.

With the moder fridge and the popular finish SS...this and Restaurant Equip being SS...what is an alternative to Magnets for Marketing?
