How long are your hoses and ladders?

I am going out to buy a ladder or some ladders and I dont know if I should buy the 32'. If you own the 32' how often do you use it? I also bought 2 -hundred foot hose from Paul Kassander at the Power Wash Store and was wondering how many feet are you guys running on each reel.

I have 2 - 32 foot ladders and they are fiberglass and weigh a ton! Very sturdy though!, The only time they get used is for roof cleaning though, we use shooter tips on houses upto 3 stories.

As far as hose, we keep no more than 200 to 250 feet on the reels most of the time but we carry enough to do what is needed, we have ran 400 feet per reel on special occasions. When we travel will will take in excess of 2000 feet of hose and up to 600 feet of filler hose plus 1.5 and 2 inch hydrant filler hose with hydrant attachments

200 feet of hose on each reel and a spare 100 feet for each reel is also on the trailer

32' will do for gutters, roofs and the odd house every now and then. We use ladders very little to wash houses.

200' is what we use on all our trailers.

How many guys are on the to handle the 32' ladders? I will be by myself and I know they are heavy. (and expensive)

I carry a 18 and a 28. Both Aluminum. Two reels 200 feet each. and I have several 50 footers that I can add but rarely ever need to for residential work.

How often do you use all or close to 200. And are you coming to New Orleans. I bought twin pump and some other things and I still want to attend school.

Very Often, Like everyday. Will use all pretty close to all of the 200 when cleaning a home. Not sure about New Orleans yet. You should sign up for Micha's class if you are going and they still have room.

My next school is tomorrow and I have two that will be here. I thought you were coming too. January class is January 9 and 10.

Did you get a Rig yet?????????

We carry 250' on each reel and normally keep at least 50-100' extra for back-up. 400' of fill hose is always on the trailer and we also carry 16' and 32' ladders as well as an 8' step ladder most of the time.

I only take ladders for jobs that need them, I don't have a ladder rack on the truck or trailer.

I keep 300', 200', 100' and 165' of hose on the reels besides another 200' hanging in the trailer if needed.

I have 225' of 3/4" supply hose on the electric Hannay reel, 120' of supply hose on the reel and another 200' on the trailer if needed.

Depending on how big the property is, usually use the 200' but on the larger houses or properties, I will use the 300' hose. I will add 50' or 100' when needed. Some of the houses are about 100' from the street and to get around the house sometimes the 200' reel works but if it is a big house or property, I can tell which hose I will need to use and unroll that hose.

The 165' hose is 1/2" and that is for running the 8gpm machine with the big guy surface cleaner so there is not much pressure loss. I got that from United Hose for a great price and it is 1.5 years old and still holding up good.

Primary residential vehicle scenario:
We use a 32 aluminum almost everyday, but we clean lots of roofs on tall houses. We keep 300ft. chemical hose 450 PW hose and 300 water hose. Yes we do use all of it sometimes. Most often we use 200ft. Chem hose 150-250PW hose and 100-150 water hose. All of this except the PW hose is kept on a 6ft bed truck. The PW equipment is trailered and used about 3 days a week. The other two days on average are roof and gutter jobs.
This layout allows us to serve very large expensive homes. Now when we first started and if you are targeting smaller homes 200ft. of everything will be fine to start.

Sorry just noticed you wanted to know how much on each reel. We do not reel our chem or water hose (yet). The PW hose is on one large Hanney hose reel. We detach what we need instead of flow-through. Especially in the cold when we only want to ant-freeze what we actually need. I would reel all my chem hose in 100 foot sections and detach from the reel for use. This avoids the whole leaking manifold situation with chem lines.
I have another large Hanney in the shop and intend to hook it up for water. 300ft. on that reel.

Some guys will probably wonder why 300 ft.?? With the trailer at some mansions we need 300ft of PW line just to get to the farthest point on the house without moving the rig. We also carry the extra water feed lines to run a second portable washer if needed and have accesible water hoses if needed for making more mix, etc. without disturbing the buffer tank.

Hope this helps :)

Larry does similar residential work to me and then some hotels. I have the same ladders Larry. This setup will allow you to reach almost any situation.

Yep got a Hydrotek 9gpm hot water with 320gal tank and 16' tandem trailer. Im going to buy another trailer tuesday that has brakes and is almost new for very low price. I purchased a lot of items from Paul so thanks for referring him to me. Its hard for me to make it to Texas because wife works overnight, kid is in school, and family lives to far away to watch him and bring him to school. I was hoping if you make it to New Orleans we can work something out and you can show me some things with my rig on your way home.

I have friends in Port Allen that I love to go and visit. Call me sometime and we can work something out and get you trained right there.

The homes you do must have very large front yards

We keep 200 foot of pressure hose on the reel for each machine with 100 feet extra on the truck.

100 foot fill hose on the reel with an extra 100 on the truck.

Anytime it looks like we'll need more than that we just load it up.

We carry a 28 foot ladder. If that isn't long enough we shake our heads and take the 40 footer...
