Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays my buddies and I all hit the track for several hours. There is no better stress relief for me than to go out on the track and simply forget about everything (except for beating the competition ). I've been in motocross for close to 15 years and I can't get enough at times. We all have the desire to go pro (naturally ) but I will be happy just to get my pro license. 125 A for now... (the level below pro-am).
Unfortunately the wood care season shares a trait with motocross... we shut down for a few months in the winter. So this year I picked up a 96' Yamaha Vmax snowmobile (ready to ride Mike??? ). The fun part is I have never ridden one to this day.
Aside from that it's time with the family (Alison my wife, Nate (2.5 year old son) and Austyn (1.3 year old daughter)... I probably should have put them first but this was about stress relief some of you have heard their screams
I am also a big computer nut... I like toying with graphic design and the web stuff. Photography is on that list too... love that perfect action shot.. ummmm or a deck.
Greg,
You must be a superman to work, raise a family, and compete MX in the A class. I 'wrenched' for my son for 5 years from novice all the way to 250 pro. It was not relaxation - it is a total way of life. About 60 races per year. He retired 11 years ago. Today I wouldn't have the energy - I have little reserves left after work. Like David it's nappy time for me - not very exciting but better than the alternative for an old guy.
Richard
Fortunately I still have some youth on my side (28). As I get older I can feel things wearing on me though..
I have such a passion for this sport.. it's a great family sport with lots of great people involved and it has grown tremendously over the past few years. This is one sport that truely keeps kids out of trouble as I have seen it first hand.
The sad part is I got out for a couple years back in/around 94 and was totally miserable....
greg, it's a 99 Shadow VLX600 Deluxe. I put cobra boulevard straight pipes (baffled of course), a stage I dynojet jets on the carb, and put some other extras into it. It has 21,000 miles on it, so it doesn't sit idle.
This years wish is to step up to a tourer, toss up between 3. Victory V92TC, HD Road King or the HD Heritage Springer Softail. Depends on how much $$$ I don't have to use this winter.
