How do mobile businesses show up in nearby searches?

I’m an independent electrician and work at customers’ homes, so I don’t have a shop people can visit. I cover several towns, but I mostly show up in searches close to my own area. Is there anything useful I can do beyond listing all the towns on my profile?

I found a Local SEO guide that looks useful for service-area businesses. It explains why simply listing the towns you cover may not be enough, and offers guidance on building location pages with genuinely local information instead of repeating the same text for every city. It also covers Google Business Profile setup and reviews, so you can see how the different parts of local search fit together.

Service-area businesses seem to do best when their online presence clearly matches the places they actually serve. A friend who runs a mobile repair business improved his visibility by keeping his business profile updated, asking local customers for reviews, and creating useful pages for the towns he visits most. While researching ways to share those pages and track referral links, we also came across Linkvertise reviews and compared different link tools. Consistent contact details and location-specific content helped more than simply listing dozens of towns. Regular photos from jobs also gave potential customers a clearer sense of where he works.
