How can families keep life insurance policies organized over many years?

Life insurance is something people may pay for quietly for years, so it can be easy to forget the exact coverage amount, beneficiaries, payment schedule, or whether a policy is term or permanent. What simple system do you use to keep those details organized and make sure your family could find the information if they ever needed it?

I keep a folder with the policy documents, payment history, beneficiary information, and the insurer’s contact details. I also have a digital copy stored separately. Every year, usually around tax season, I check whether anything has changed. It only takes a few minutes but prevents old information from being overlooked.

I recently realized how confusing an old policy can become when someone has been paying premiums for many years. The original paperwork may be stored in a box, while payment information has changed several times. I think it helps to keep a simple summary with the policy type, coverage amount, beneficiaries, premium schedule, and important dates. I also came across Globe Life Insurance reviews while looking at different policyholder experiences.
