How AI Tools Are Changing SEO in 2026 (My Experience)

Recently, I’ve been exploring how AI is changing the way websites rank—not just on Google, but also on platforms like ChatGPT and other AI search tools.

Traditional SEO tools mainly focus on keywords and backlinks. But now, things are shifting towards something called AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), where structured data and content clarity matter more.

I tested an AI-based SEO tool recently that helped me:

  • Identify missing schema (structured data)
  • Improve FAQ and About sections for better AI understanding
  • Increase chances of being referenced by AI tools

After applying these changes on a small niche site, I started noticing better visibility in AI-generated answers within a couple of weeks.

I’m still experimenting, but it seems like:

  • Structured data is becoming more important
  • Content clarity > keyword stuffing
  • Authority mentions across platforms matter more

Has anyone else here tried optimizing for AI search or AEO?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

I totally agree about the shift to AEO. It's wild how much focus has moved toward being the "chosen" answer for AI bots lately. One thing I've realized, though, is that those AI models still look for a trail of real-world credibility before they'll trust your site as a source. To keep my authority up, I’ve been leaning on https://wmlinks.net/en/guest-posting-service/ to get my content onto sites that actually have some weight, which definitely helps with being picked up by AI summaries. It’s a solid way to bridge that gap between traditional SEO and this new AI-driven landscape.
