i've got a house/deck combo wash coming up and was wondering on how most of you guys like to put this in order. this is a vinyl sided house and the deck is grey with some black mildew mixed in. there is no stain or sealant on the deck and the homeowner is going to seal himself. which one would you do first and why?

I always do the House Wash first and then any decking, back patio's etc... Why? Just because! I don't really think there is a special reason for doing one or the other first or last. My motto has always been " Get in,,, Get out,,, on with the next one". This has always worked for me...For everything. Wink! Wink!

if you arent stripping it, it dont matter. But if you are stripping the deck, do the deck first. Stripper does a lot better when working on a semi dry deck. Some people like prewetting, we dont. If the deck is soaked from the house the stripper doesnt do its job.
