Hot Water is luke warm

My HotBox has gone from Hot to warm.
I got flame, lots of white/grey smoke and the fan is blowing.

hat can I check?

I was thinking that. I've seen a product for that, I just can't remember what it is.

If the white / gray smoke is just lazily rolling out of the stack, it's clogged with soot. If it's to that point, no additive will fix it, you'll have to pull the coil and wash it off. If it's billowing out normally, your nozzle may be clogged.

OK, how much of a pain is it to pull the coil? I realize that I need to disconnect and cover the burner.

What brand and model is your machine? You shouldn't have to disconnect the burner. Many times, if it's a horizontal coil, you can pull the burner head and wash the coil where it sits.

have you checked the diesel filter?

Mine was doing this and it was not getting enough fuel due to a clogged filter

I think white smoke is lean, black smoke is rich so that would mean you have too much air or too little fuel. I would start with the nozzle, filter, fuel. The airband could have come loose and opened up? Good luck

just remove the filer and run it without it for a minuet or two and see if the problem persists. If if was the filter you will ahve smoke for a minuet or two but will go away

Heater is working better. Dumped fuel. Changed the fuel filter before the fuel pump. Changed the injector.
They didn't have a 2.00 so I put a 2.75 on.
I did not pw the coils. Water gets to 150*.
Plenty hot to burn hands and melt gum.
I need to clean the coils next.

It got me thru a job this a.m.
There is no fuel shut off or drain valve on the tank. I WILL be installing one next week.
