Hot Box Purchase

Hi Guys:

Looking to purchase a hot box, due to limited room I'm leaning toward a vertical 12v system I believe if I tie into my cold 8gpm Honda 690 machine it should keep up with the demand, do you agree? I was considering the Largo or another brand which I haven't seen around much, http://www.propowerwashers.com/hot-box

Does anyone have any experience with the "Power Washers Unlimited" unit, it is roughly $800 cheaper then the Largo unit.

Does anyone have any experience with vertical units vs. horizontal ones, also would consider the envirospec unit.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,

GG

You get what you pay for when it comes to equipment. I wrote off envirospec myself many years ago. My top choices would be either of the 3.......

Largo - Power Wash Store sells them
Farley's - Russ from Southside Equipment sell them the last I knew of
Or have Jerry custom build you one. He will custom build you anything you want short of a fire engine.

The Farley's heater is around $3300.00. It is actually made to heat water to 200° using 3 gph of diesel, where the competition will make warm water and use 4 gph to do it. It has a 24" diameter coil made from 3/4" sch 80 pipe for lower flow restriction and better heat transfer. The heater will make up the difference in initial cost in less than 700 hours run time in fuel savings.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the input, so I gather stay away from 12v and only do 120v!

Vince whats the deal with envirospec, I realize you can't ever get anyone on the phone but it does look like they have quality items or is this a smoke and mirror show?

Russ $3300 for a hot box, that sounds like top end regarding pricing units! Does that work with 8 gpm cold machine? If I'm moving to $3k range doesn't that open up other vendors as options? If dollars where of no concern what is the top two manufacturers of hot boxes?

Thanks,
Gregg

Hi Russ,

Can you link the units you sell I can't seem to find any hot boxes in your store.

Thanks,
Gregg

I forget what the deal was with Envirospec that caused my to write them off. It was that long ago. Customer service is key though. Have you noticed how fast that Russ replied to your questions regarding the Farley's unit even though it's on a Sunday? That's great customer service right there, no need to wait til Monday to try and get an answer on a question. I have always put a value on customer service myself. Even if a reputable vendor on here is charging $200 or $400 more for a new machine that my local supplier is, in my book the vendor on here get's the sale versus the local guy.

I agree Russ is great always enjoy working with him! And his BD200 is spot on!! :)

Thanks for your input, appreciated.
