Well I went to solicit a local place yesterday. First they told me that Professional Steam Clean ( My Competitor that sports a big ol NFPA sticker on his van and his uniforms) does it and they like to keep the same vendors when they do good service. I talked my way into the kitchen to have a look.

Notice the home made Galvanized job there. NO FILTERS of any kind.

No access panels on the latteral. I could not get up to the roof last night to look at the fans.

Oh and check those mesh filters out on the other system, that PSC swaps out every month for 30 bucks.

No Stickers EVER.

They finally told me to get them a quote and they would try me. The owners son went to school with my wife so I kinda asked him if 350 for both was too high. He said PSC does it for less. I do not even want to quote this I think this is a fire waiting to happen.

just looking I would say about $ 700.00 initial cleaning ... and maybe $ 350.00 every three months after that.. If your buddy has another company cleaning it thats cheaper ,, but they did not put a sticker on it that should tell you something.... Also that duct work is nasty... I would hit them up for another $ 500.00 on top of the $700 for access panels..

He will probably tell you to go _________ .... But hey when the place burns to the ground you can drive by and laugh as you scream out the window ( I told you so ) !!!!!!!!!!!
 
I would pass on that one unless they went with a full cleaning AND proper filters. the mesh filters work...till they get gresy and then they are just a a fire waiting to happen,show them the pics of that "cleaning" and you can get the contract to clean it if you want
