Mark, currently have a CW machine built by USA Pressure - 4000 psi, 5 gpm (TS 2021 pump), 18 HP Honda belt drive. May be purchasing another machine and would like a little input.
Looking at the same basic system, but will have configured for 3500 psi/5.6 gpm. Interested in your thoughts on having them use a 20HP Honda vs. 18HP.
1. Will 20HP perform better (longer)? Have had no internal engine problems with the 18HP in the 2 years I have had machine, but thought the 20 might be preferable.
2. Believe the 20 HP has a 18 or 20 amp charging system, vs. the 18 HP, which has a 3 amp system. How could I put to use the 20 amp system (i.e. hook up lights, etc.)?
3. Are components on the Honda 20HP similar to 18HP? I end up doing a lot of the minor repair work and maintenance myself, so commonality of components would be a plus. Do they use the same muffler, filters, carberator linkages, etc?
As a reference point, will purchase a machine with a TS2021 because that is what I have now, which would give me duplicate backup capability - for example, I have a spare pump "just in case".
