Holiday Lighting Contracts Made the Front Page

Great with comments from the Director of the library like "We have recieved excellent customer service from them" to "We will renew the contract once it's up"

I'm not worried about it. I have taken apart in the community on the DT revitalization board and also sit on the BOD for the chamber and rotary. WE are becoming WELL known in the community and not just for the work we do but for the PROFESSIONALISM and CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Treat people welll enough and they have no reason to leave no matter the price! :)

Hopefully thats the case but never say never... I had a large account with the city that we lost after having it for 3 years straight. It was for the Valpo Redevelopment District and I've been in with the guy in charge for along time - 100% happy with our service. Higher heads decided price was more important since it was being paid for by grant money. Good job though those jobs make you realize your doing things right.

Public officials have a fiduciary responsibility to tax payers to get the most for their money. Of course they can step over lower bidders to appease special disadvantaged groups if they deem necessary. I have a friend that owns a large paving company and says the Obama "shovel ready" federal road contracts require 30% minority participation.

Coincidently govt entities seem to take a harder look at costs the closer they are to election time.
