High volume cleaning

I like the setup and the video, its impressive. But personally if it were me and I had 2 8.5 gpm machines, I would probably just run the surface cleaner and have the other guy (the hose puller in the video) come behind me and rinse. We do this on the shopping centers we clean running 2 5gpm machines and it works good. All that rinsing he was doing seemed to be a bear.
Cool setup. I would try it just to say I did it but not sure if I would be happy with it. Thats just me.

OK,

big fast awsome cleaning,

..but

all

that

RINSING !! !! !!

O M G !!

Instant reclaim is going to be WAY faster considering there's almost NO rinsing.

Seriously..
I'm thinking 10gpm, 220 degrees, 3500psi or better, (for the BEST Quality clean,)
and a 30" Vacuuming surface cleaner, with at 90 to 95% capture .. but so it's not dragging..
should be HALF the cleaning time.
..and WAY less water consumption. (less fuel too !! = $$$ savings !)

What's the point in "going fast" if you don't IMPRESS the customer
in EVERY way.

I really like Russ' point.. going fast makes big systems VERY attractive..
we just have to get 'em Right.

BTW.. Diesel engine system pricing is being refined right now..
You want big.. we build BIG.

I agree, vacuum recovery may cut 30 to 40 % off the time .......................... another important point you make Jerry on fuel but you may burn that back up to run the vacuum and pump outs.

Big Diesel is the way to go, I agree....with the budget

Nigel, when you think about it, the classic I have, actually all my surface cleaners only have 2 spray nozzles each.

When you go from 8gpm with a 3 spray bar surface cleaner to a 2 nozzle spray bar you are hitting the surface with the same pressure but more gpm's with the nozzles compared to the 3 nozzle spray bar (the more nozzles you have divides the flow, not pressure but I am sure you know that Nigel), that is why the smaller surface cleaners seem to clean better sometimes.

3 nozzle spray bar with 8gpm's would be 3 of the #3 nozzles so it would be like 2.66gpm's hitting the surface at each nozzle
2 nozzle spray bar with 8gpm's would be 2 of the #4.5 nozzles so it would be like 4 gpm's hitting the surface at each nozzle.

With more gpm's and more spray nozzles, the surface cleaner seems to clean faster but might not be doing enough of the deeper cleaning compared to the 2 nozzle spray bar.

Kind of how if you use a homeowner pressure washer with 3000psi and only 2gpm you can clean but very slow but when you go up to 4 or 5 or 8gpm, you can clean many times faster. The more gpm's, the faster you can clean.

I hear you Chris, I will say this ................. it may contradict some notions in my thread on nozzle trivia ........... gpm without the optimal pressure can give you reasonable calculated impact....... but this type of impact supply is what i call..... "Blunt Hammering"....... it is wise always to strike a balance of gpm and pressure for "cutting cleaning action" , similar to the physics analogy of the force per sqft from elephant foot vs a woman's high heels

This is nothing. You guys should see my wife run back and forth with my 18 in surface cleaner hooked up to the 4 gallon per min machine. She moves like the wind.

Like a tornado.

In my mind your described method would be faster, especially if you have to remove the gum, the videos method is faster with a one man operation.

Good Nigel, just busy. I got into the Tire business as well so its crazy right now with tax time and everyone having a little clinking in their pocket

Long time Chris T, how have you been?

Any gas station I've ever done needed detailing , so rinsing is going to happen.

Unless they agree to the "only where the surface cleaner can get to" cleaning and no gum

I like the setup also but I with you Chad in our area sometimes the gum is more of a issue than the clean.

There have been very many jobs where the gum takes many times longer to clean than the actual concrete (thousands and thousands of pieces of gum), especially if it is the petrified gum that has baked into the concrete for many years.

Our company cleans 30-50 stations a week and key to operation is less water awesome recovery and perfect water recycle....unless you close a store and plug the drains that much flow is to much
