Hi all:

How's everyone? I just wanted to say Thanks to Ron Musgrave for phoning me at home last week to invite me to write on this bulletin board. I see some of the people who welcomed me to the Power Wash Network board are active here. For some of you who have read my posts from before I have received the business cards, and have distributed a few.
I am new to the pressure washing industry and am looking forward to starting very soon, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. My wife and I are real excited about this new venture. I am also in an Entrepreneurship Program and about to get into the area I really need to work on, it just happens to be selling. Being that this program is part time it allows me to work in and on this business for a good part of the day. It's just the first few minutes that are the harshest, but it's also letting the customer do all the talking instead of me, to close the sale.
It's also trying to get the customer to pay for quality work, I know the no's mean getting closer to the yesses.
1) Is there a good way to charge customers for awning cleaning? And how do you charge, is there a guide for charging square footage? And is there a difference in price for the different materials?
2) How about boats whats the best way to charge for the project?
I will be starting off in residential for a few months and then moving to the other two areas. Hoping to leave boats for the winter time, and won't be to dissappointed if I don't get to all 3 areas this year. I definately want to get into the first 2 this year though.
Thanks again to Ron Musgrave for sending me here. To all have a real good, safe next week. Look forward to your emails and input, as there is not many here to get the info from. I tried to keep this novel short never works out though.
Oh yeah have new email, new puter, big help.

so you are surprized, I'm Glad you registared. Welcome to the only community on the web run by pw for pw.

I dont have square footage prices for awnings, i should have and maybe i will look back at some jobs and figure out what i 've been charging. this is and ad on for me and i 'm not really that scientific about it. should be,,

Boats, never done any.. not much help so far.

Keep in mind that sq. footage cant always be the formula that works. theres a degree of difficulty for every job. you know, how long has it been since washed. how much gum is on the surface really can determine the amount of time.

i will post some prices of some awning we did recently just because i would like to know how much they are too.
