Just a BBQ, was supposed to be on vacation. Wish I had some real fireworks! Just got poured on by a monsoon. Thinking about sweet freedom for everyone.
My son came home yesterday from a two year mission in Taiwan. This is the first time in 5 years the whole family has been home at one time. So we bought him a phone this morning, went to a movie this afternoon, and a bbq this evening.
Did an estimate for a condo complex and a school this morning then started my 10-day vacation. Took the family out to eat tonight then headed to downtown St Augustine for our awesome "Fireworks Over The Matanzas" event. Will be driving over to Alabama tomorrow for a week to visit my folks.

Driving just about all day! Fun day though. Spent a couple of nights in the only Casino Resort on the truckee river, then went on 395 from Reno to Western Oregon. We counted 5 bald eagles and countless hawks. Then stopped at an unexpected sight in the middle of nowhere, it was a salty lake called Abert lake in Oregon. Nothing lives in it but brine shrimp and birds are all over the place eating the shrimp. It was kindof like the Salton Sea in southern California (and stunk like it too) but it was still beautiful. Tomorrow headed up to Eastern Washington and Idaho.
Spent the day with my good friend Dutch (who's almost 70) and his family. Dutch started "Dutch Touch" window cleaning back in the late 90's, grew to 7 full time trucks now. Great guy and full of life!
Then took the wife and kids to watch fireworks... nice relaxing day.
Worked all morning finishing up a parking lot. Spent the rest of the day helping my oldest daughter pack. I cannot believe that my 17 year old daughter is boarding a plane for Kenya for mission work. I am so proud of her for hard work and her unwavering faith to do God's work. Please pray for her safe travel and her work at the Mattaw Children's Village.
