Gx690 8 gpm 3500 - setup

You don't need 2 bulkheads, you can use a 2" bulkhead and run a 2" hose to the pump then get a 2" "T" and reduce it down to 1" and run those 2 lines to the pump.

You need to make sure you can get to the other side of the pump inlet, a lot of times the belt guard is in the way. You can take it off and gut off part to get to the inlet but that is a lot of cutting and grinding.

I only have a 1" line to my 8gpm machine and it has been running great for at least 7 years or longer.

Chris any chance you can show us what you're talking about here?

One water feed of 3/4" or bigger is all you need, the pump inlet is 3/4". Put a Y trap filter before the pump, they offer the least amount of restriction/turbulence. To use the setup you currently have plumbed you could leave the 1-1/2" line to the filter and then use a reducing nipple to go from the filter into the pump directly, if possible. If the filter is too far from the pump run 3/4"-1" hose from the filter to the pump.

Go and read post number 20, Chad put a picture of splitting the line before the pump, pretty much self-explanatory but he is not using 2" hose, this will also work good.

I would not use the clear polybraid hose, I have seen it collapse when machines are running, use wire-embedded hose, heater hose or other thick walled hose so it will not collapse.

whelp. got it all mounted and everything is in place. only thing is i have to go BACK to home depot (arghh!) to get a inch and half to 1" reducer so i can hook up the flex hose to the supply inch and half PVC. it all laid out great. can't wait to start it up and be amazed.

moved the filter to the inlet side and plumbed it all in and looks clean and will be easy to work with. Still need to order a float valve too.

Thanks for all the help guys. Ill post pictures tomorrow.

What are the gpm's of this new rig?

You can use a 1" line from the tank all the way to the pump, this does not look bigger than 8gpm's, just get a reducer bushing to 1" at the tank and then run just 1" line, that would be easier.

Duh I did not see it in the thread title, thanks for pointing it out to me. hahahhahaha

Doesn't the pump run more evenly from dual feed? Tge 3rd plunger will always get less water than the first. IMHO

lol.. i ran 1.5 most of the way with a 1" flex after a ball valve that dumps off the side to fill buckets/pump sprayers. Ran it yesterday and am very pleased to say the least.
