Let the games begin. After learning recently that I lost my bid for 30+ Fresh & Easy locations to a all in one company named Jann Pro, I recently visited several store locations. It was undeniable that none of the locations that I have visited had been pressure washed since I photographed and bid each location almost 2 months ago.

After contacting the national facilities manager, I learned that not only was Jann Pro awarded the contract, but have invoiced for the pressure washing.

I'm going to put about a dozen videos together of 12 random locations, and send them to my contact at Fresh & Easy.

As you'll see, I stenciled the concrete, but then washed the slab expansion joint to expansion joint. A big part of me wanted to just leave the stenciled image, but I'm not sure what the consequences would be. After all, I am still going for the contract.

I'm the first to admit I'm a rank amateur when it comes to video production and uploading, but just like anything else I am learning. Here is the first of several that I shot last night, into the morning.

Jim, Hopefully these video's will help you get the contract. It is easy to see that they have not been touched. If Fresh and Easy has been billed for work that has not completed, sounds like they will be looking for a new contractor.

What is Fresh and Easy? Grocery Store?

Did you just do the demo on your own, or did you get permission from the store manager? Just wondering if the store manager would be willing to let a contractor do a demo, knowing they just had hired someone else....

..

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds my attorney is still in jail.

:eek:uttahere:

Fresh & Easy is a newer company owned food chain, small in size, owned by a company out of England. AZ, California and Nevada.

YouTube decided to silence my video, claiming possible copyright infringements, since I used a track from the Firm (which I purchased). I'm new to YouTubes rules and regulations, but I always have a plan B:

Nice work Jim, goosh those steel eagles are nice, sounds like a mower, sure bets my mosmatic for rotational speed.

Did you start using the 1/2" hose on that video, how does it compare?

Good luck with the potential new customer.

p.s. you did great on the video too. :clapping:

No, I do these demo's using my smaller trailer (3500 psi @ 5.5 GPM)

I have the 1/2" hose ordered, should have it up and running next week.

You would have to tell us about the difference in kick at the gun, as well as how sore your arms are.

You can count on it Nigel. Thanks again for all your assistance, willingness to help and advice.

Do you know the contractor that does these every 15 days?

Scott & I do......I hope your address is not listed.

His first name is Rick.....

This is standard for his COmpany...

Good luck we have been talking to the powers at be...

His wife works for them

That is a shame that they are that dirty after signing with a company over 2 months ago.

I would bet that the owner or corporate will really be pissed after seeing the demo but I would think that a couple more sent to them would be better so they don't think that it is a fluke or a store that was missed.

Hope you get it, you show with the demo that you can do the job, hopefully they will see the same and use their common sense and get rid of the hack.

Good Luck.

See if you can find out if they have a regional manager that does site visits. If they do try to arrange a demo with him.

I like the video but I wouldn't use the music background. It takes away from the professionalism of the service and the video.

Not sure what to make of this post.

I'm not sure who this Rick is, nor do I care. I'm not scared of any man. I can tell you this much, no one is doing any pressure washing at any of the 31 locations, as I met with the manager at each location. So if this guy "Rick" is charging them for cleaning, he's a criminal and a disgrace to this industry.

I was contacted by the national company rep to bid all the locations here in the Phoenix metro area, and 2 other states. The contract was for a 1 time cleaning, in preparation for the chains relaunch campaign on September 15, 2009.

Jan Pro was awarded the "all in one" contract. The national rep called me around September 15th and asked me to inspect half a dozen random locations, and provide my opinion on the quality of the pressure washing that was performed. It's was obvious that absolutely zero pressure washing was performed by Jan Pro, or anyone since I took photo's and video documentation of each location I personally bid 2 + months earlier.

Apparently Jan Pro invoiced for pressure washing services. I knew nothing about any other contractor doing regular maintenance, nor was I bidding for a service contract.

My address is public information. If this Rick dude or anyone is stupid enough to violate my property or endanger my family or my businesses, it will be a very serious mistake. I have 8 camera's covering my property 360 degrees, 24/7 and uploaded to an Internet server constantly. I installed these camera's several years ago as the result of a liability lawsuit. My Rottweilers are not exactly "people friendly", and when a car thief made the mistake of entering my property several years ago, my Rotties damn near killed him, then me and my wife held him at gunpoint until Police took over. This POS car thief had the audacity to file a civil suit while rotting in jail. He lost his civil case as he did his freedom.

So if this Rick dude wants to be stupid, that's fine with me. I'd like to think we would all be working against individuals that give this industry the bad reputation. I guess the lesson I have learned is not to post any information about my business adventures, as it may be turned against me.

I'm with ya, Rick cleans them and all those managers play stupid

It obviously appears to me that Rick says he cleaned them... likes to get paid as though he cleaned them... and the managers are mismanaging and should consider looking for other employment opportunities.

You forgot to say Hi to Rick...

Jim, you don't have anything to worry about from Rick, on any level...

You definitely have the upper hand in THIS situation...
I can't think of anything that speaks louder than using a stencil here.

The funny thing is when people try to argue against 'facts'.

That is very true, hard to argue with facts like a stencil done on a place that was "supposedly" cleaned. If the managers side with that criminal then they should lose their job besides the guy losing the contract and the Jan whatever company losing their contract for letting this happen, corruption and theivery can happen on so many levels here as shown.

If it was me, I would make videos of every property and post them all on youtube and put them on thumbdrives and mail them to corp exec.'s with signed receipts so you know that they get them.

This is very wrong what is happening, such a dis-service to the owner or shareholders of the company. Sounds like there is upper management hiding what is happening also since nobody is making the rounds to check on the lower management just to be sure that things are running smoothly.

What a shame.

Keep up the good job Jim!
