OK you guys seem to be fixated on "THE FOAMER." If a job takes about 2 hours from start to finish, how much time do you spend foaming. My time is no more than 10 minutes on a 2 hour job. That is the big deal. I have a 6 inch quick disconnect attachment that foams up my chemical. On and off , as long as it takes to change tips. Whats the big deal with these exotic foamers? KISS

Some people seem to think you can tell the customer you are using new state of the art technology, and can therefor charge more money.

Doesn't get much more simple than this.

Whats wrong with that, you can also say it cuts down on cleaning time and charge less. I bet you can market many different things many different ways. Find an angle and charge what you want

It's a decent foamer, but it would be impossible to get that thing on a roof. You can't run but about 20' of line with those things. (trying to be nice :))

What is the BIG setup time you are talking about? I plug in a little compressor, mix my chems, plug air line into foamer, start spraying. It is basically no different than you do with your pump up or whatever you are using except for an air line. The compressor, the foamer...everything but a hose and gun (just like pw) stay at the truck. The job in that video of mine that Josh just posted took 1:07 from start to finish. What could be faster than foaming with a water hose, then rinsing with the same hose? I didn't even bother hooking up the pw because of the foam.

Wrong, we charge more because we actually do our job  Our standard is bare naked metal, What's yours? oh wait...I have an after picture of one of your jobs...doesn't look like our standard does it?

You really don't want to get into a QUALITY pissing match with me or any other Grease Police member do you???

For the sake of Russ, I won't comment on you personally badgering me, but if I were a moderator, this kinda stuff would not be tolerated.

The foam has helped me to do my job faster and that is the main reason I use it. With a pressure washer and a pump up I used to have to spray several times and hit everything several times with the pressure washer before a job would come clean.

I could charge less money now that my jobs are coming out better in less time but why? If I am delivering a superior product than my competitors, shouldn't I charge a superior price?

When I watched that video the first time I was impressed with how easy the grease washed off....but you couldn't see past the "big head" of Ant. It is clear that you are intimidated, and jealous of what you do not have. Thanks though, I just had an idea for a new TGP slogan, "WARNING....the foam goes straight to your brain", ....I hope that's not taken.

Anybody who has spent any amount of time talking to Ant can testify what a ragin' egomaniac he is.

:D

HAHAHAH Well that shot of the duct that was absolutely filled with grease was impressive. Where do you guys find these jobs. As far as I am concerned KEEP EM. Any place that lets their system get that bad will probably let it get that bad again. Not a customer I want. Now a duct like that needs a MATCH, not foam.
My foamer costs about $12.00 and fits in my pocket. Does a fine job. Definitely wouldnt help on that last duct picture. Looks like a acraping job not a foam jom. When its bad dont you scrape then foam? Or do you just foam everything them blast grease foam all over the place? You make it sound as if the 6" thick grease surrounding the duct just disappears when ya foam it. If anything , if you foam first with that amount of accumulation, you create a bigger mess.
It does appear that some people use this site to sell their equipment and school. Just gets kinda BORING. If you are sooooo successful why do you need to get free advertising here. Doesnt your successful business make enough to afford advertising? You are so perfect in your work and so much better than anyone else, be brave. Go out on your own, like a man, and advertise on your own. Stop clinging to this site. Cut the apron strings. You can do it grasshopper.
I look to this site for insite on work . Often it is filled with not so vague sales pitches.

What's wrong with passion, I'd much rather have someone who is passionate about what they do clean my system than a cleaner who only does the easy stuff and goes home.

Well Yeah I'm sure that there are plenty of restaurant owners who knowingly let their systems get that bad, the secondary part of the problem is there are just as many cleaners who willingly steal money from the honest restaurant owner letting him think his system is getting cleaned when in fact said cleaner is only doing cosmetic work and passing it off as a complete job. Certainly you have been in business long enough to know that. The ducted in that picture had been recently tagged as being cleaned.
A system that bad obviously would need scraped first.

I didn't see anyone selling anything here....just offering insight on an effective way of cleaning....maybe I missed something.

The best part about using foam is that it melts the grease better, so it runs off the plastic easier. Thanks to foam, I can reuse the same roll of plastic on up to ten jobs!:) (as long as there arent any burn holes) This cuts my expense on plastic to less than $1.00 per job!:D
