Google Loves Authoritative Sites

No takers Ron.
Some bloke thought this was a threat because I said to "consider this opportunity because chances are we are coming into your marketplace soon" that wasnt meant to be a threat, rather stating a fact.
In the last week we have launched 2 new sub domains, Kansas City & Philadelphia both are ranking on the first page of Google for multiple searches including for the biggest volume search of the industry "Pressure Washing".
Those areas are gone now, anybody in those areas who were sitting on the fence, just fell off it. lol.
I will be rolling out another domain tomorrow, just putting the final touches on it and we have at least 2 more in the pipeline.

I got Kansas City, MUhahahaha.

I think Cullen does a great job.

I have no interest in doing SEO in a traditional sense. SEO is dead!

Keep telling yourself that....it isn't going to make it true. SEO isn't a "thing" in the way you've been expressing it, It also isn't a "subscription"...it's a function or act of doing something. There isn't a "traditional" SEO, it's an evolving process dictated by the search engines. What worked in 2002, didn't in 2006, same for 2009, 2010, 2011, etc and it keeps changing and will always be in a state of change. Saying that search engine optimization is dead is like saying cleaning your home is dead. How you clean a home is a lot different today than it was 50 years ago but the act of "cleaning" is still there.....and necessary.

Since it is and will always be possible to rank a website up, and what you said you'd do (in the first post) is someone stopped renting a subdomain, I have to agree with Carlos that why pay someone to rank their own site up when they'll just rent it to your competitor.

I also agree with WoodDocJax, your not selling a service, you're selling a "no compete" clause.

There is a thing called traditional SEO...its called link building and its what 99% of SEO companies do therefore its "traditional". No its not dead I agree, you are taking the statement too literally but it is changing as you as aware, away from "traditional" methods that have worked in the past.
It may be a "no compete clause' as you say, but its much more than that.
I help members rank for searches that they may not previously be ranking for, thats a service!

it would help....but if thats all that was required....

Have you looked at google page 1 for "pressure washing harrisburg"? There's a guy at position 4 with zero backlinks! Page 1 is filled with bottom feeders like AL and superpages....google is dipping deep in the barrel on this one.

You are on page 1 because of exact match domain name and onpage optimization for the search term....not for domain authority.

Yes, with a little on page optimization for "harrisburg" and some backlinks, Water Dog would easily rank at the top and probably above your subdomain.

And from what I've seen looking at your domain on Majestic and ahref's, you depend on links as well....having over 10k and your best coming from "traditional". You have an exact match domain name....other than that "edge", there isn't any magic I can see.

SEO (linking) is changing in the sense that google is cleaning up the spam linking and quality issues. How you link is changing....but Google isn't going to depart from that foundation. How else would they rank websites if not by popularity?

And Google knows people backlink....they even tell you how to and how not to do it.

do a search for sidewalk cleaning harrisburg, driveway cleaning harrisburg, house washing harrisburg or try a different service area such as york, or york county, york pa, lancaster, mechanicsburg consistent page 1 or number results not only for harrisburg for a vast majority for all of the members including major, more competitive cities.
For $29 p/month dont you thnk its a great tool to have in addition with whatever Jason does with his primary domain? Its $348 for the year and Jason has already banked over 16k from his harrisburg sub domain....such a bad deal! LOL

Create a page called "pressure washing harrisburg", stick that in the top of the content body as an h1 tag as well, don't get too spammy but get your keywords in the content several times, when you get that done, I'll throw some backlinks at it and we'll watch and see what happens.

It's not rocket science....silverstarwash got to #4 with just the word "harrisburg" on his homepage.

I'm not saying you need to dump your subdomain....worst case is you'll have two places on that serp.

im not saying i dont do link building....its just not my highest priority....building content rich sites is. that is the point i am branding the words Pressure Washing so when somebody types in Pressure Washing Harrisburg and there is a dynamic content rich website with a sub domain "harrisburg" which is also content rich and dynamic, who do you think has the edge? Pw.net is a baby....rankings are only going to improve, along with conversions. How much magic do you want?

I outrank many exact match domains such as (pressurewashinglosangeles.com),( pressurewashinghouston.com) other major cities. You would need to have the keywords in the pages titles, image file name, image titles, alternate text and meta tags as well. Pw.net outranks (harrisburgpressurewashing.com) too so if that was a sure thing, whats going on there? I agree it can work, but if its a static website, rankings will decline. You cant do everything yourself when running a business. Well you can, but its not advisable.

I'm not going to look at every one of those....we're talking Harrisburg, pop 50k, it aught to be easy to rank for all of those in a small city like that unless there's a pressure washer on every block.

I did check the first one and you are 1 spot ahead of a guy with a 2 year old website with not a single link on the entire internet.

clear your history....the site you are referring to has been clicked on by you, hence its purple not blue....this may bring about a different result

And if you think that I have built over 10,000 back links by myself, think again! Members are building back links daily thru the forums and possible other channels, which is another factor which makes http://pressurewashing.net an authoritative site.
Members are a part of a team, each sub domain is part of one website. That's probably the biggest competitive advantage, possibly even more powerful than the exact match domain aspect.

Well, I wasn't going to bring that up since not everyone has the tools I have but you are right....all but about 300'ish were forum links. Your best backlinks come from your customers which is a pretty ironic when you think about it.

I really don't want to debate every single subdomain and city you have, every situation is unique. My comment was in general, that in the long term, it's going to cost more to rent then to build they're own site and when it's over, they don't own anything.....they are off the team.
