Going to try and settle in here...........

Chris I was banned for awhile from RCIA, I've been banned here too.

Pwi was started because I got banned from another forum we all started together.

It started and I donated it to the industry.

I think Chris started the Rcia because he likes to teach. He has been teaching since Delco over 15 years ago.

I think I like to teach as well, I think it raises the standards of the industry.

I'm glad we here at pwi have never charged anyone or have never taken vendor dollars from anyone.

This is what's really behind the problems and the hardships. When you take dollars the expectations increase.

Just belonging to a group isn't good enough. Expectation increase, greed on both sides not just the folks taken the money but the individuals who's money's been taken start to want what they paid for. Realizing there are places like pwi where we share factual truthful info for free.


Chris , let the Rcia go back to the original platform. Free, let the members enjoy the great SEO you started the site for. It will benefit more and allow the members who support donate if they feel to do so.

That's just my honest thoughts.

All of these private org will eventually fail, at the end of the day they are not representing the industry. A private org to line the pockets of a few by many will never have any longevity.

Pwi stands strong amongst these fad organizations that are taking money in my eyes ethically wrong. Why?? Because industry orgs should represent all, these orgs created only represent a few and Financially only benefit the owners.

Here we can talk open and freely.

We will be singing this same story in another year or two after these others have in happy people.

Gary is unable to post here, someone has banned him from PWI. Thus, he unable to tell his side of things.
The RCIA has been having problems with our Forum Company. This is WHY we are in the process of moving to a new, state of the art forum!
When a user deletes their own account, the forum automatically bans the IP of the self deleted poster! This is what happened. As the master admin of the forum I own, I see ALL actions of my moderators. Both ED Thompsons and Mike DeRose accounts were reinstated by Gary, even though he did NOT Ban them.

I can dream, and my dream is this, one big HEALING for everyone, and the RCIA.

I am also restoring Art Oliveri, who was banned by Gary.

And I ask the powers that be here at PWI to check into the reason why Gary is unable to post here at PWI.

I took a day off from the world yesterday, when all the chit hit the fan. Since the good name of the RCIA Forum is being attacked, and I was gone yesterday from the RCIA Forum, and Gary was there. it is chicken chit to not allow Gary to give his side of what happened, here at PWI.

Ron, you are absolutely right. And our NEW Forum will have a lot of changes! Closing the RCIA Forum killed the SEO I (and several others) worked so hard to build.
When I charged a measely 100 dollars for membership, posters changed from posters, to my customers!
In an effort to make my customers (the majority of them) happy, I kicked my long time friend AC to the curb.
I LOST my long time friend AC, and that freaking HURTS.

Plus, in losing AC, we lost a lot of momentuim, as sides were drawn, and feelings on BOTH sides were hurt!

Closing the forum took us from nearly 1000 views a day, down to 2 to 300 views. It also caused the loss of many backlinks for my posters, all to "protect" secrets that never were secrets in the first place.

I am not into Industry Politics at all Ron. You know me Man, I just wanted a place to teach roof cleaning, and give some good SEO benefits to my guys.

Here are my thoughts, summed up in one sentence I can dream, and my dream is this, one big HEALING for everyone, and the RCIA.
 
Good luck Chris , here's my advice do what you say your going to do. Be strong of your own thoughts on what the Rcia should be. Keep it as simple as teaching and SEO.

Thanks Ron! ALL I really ever wanted for the RCIA was a place to teach roof cleaning AND provide the SEO Benefits to the guys we taught, so they had a fighting chance to earn a living, and feed their loved ones. I live in a very very small house, and I live well below my means. I am a very established roof cleaning company here in the Tampa Florida area. My roof cleaning business easily pays my bills, with money left over. I do not require the little bit of money I make off the RCIA Forum, for my survival.
In fact, it is almost not worth all the hassles. I do it because teaching roof cleaning is what I do, and have been doing for 15 plus years.
Money just can not buy when I hear this "Thank You Chris for all you taught me. Now, I am able to feed my family. Even w/o a website, people are finding me on the RCIA Forum"

THAT means everything to me Ron. I try my best to help people. Larry Millette will tell you how much I helped him, now LOOK at him go! I have sent (and still do) work to Kory, as well as to Nick Campanelli. In fact, I feel so bad about Nick, who has sent TONS of work to everyone, yet no one ever returns the favor! If you remember Spencer from MTO, I personally went to his office, and redid several things, even though he is 4 miles away from me, AND cleans roofs!
You and I Ron are much the same. You are a great teacher, as well as a provider of work to your students. In fact, like I told you at the very first ever NCE Roundtable, there are very very FEW people I can listen to for an hour (must be the ADHD), LOL
You are an awesome teacher, and I very much enjoy (and learn from) what you have to say.

In retrospect, perhaps RCIA SHOULD have become an honest to goodness, non profit ORG ?

Really, I am not into politics, and Bill and AC were ready, willing and able to take it there. You just can't imagine all the chit I got about that! Besides the conflict with AC being a Vendor, the attempt to allow pressure washing of roofs into our Certification Standards goes against everything I (and the RCIA) have stood for all these years.

Well, that is what the Forum automatically does Mike, when you self delete. Gary said he restored it, though he did not do it, nor did I.
In fact, I restored Art Oliveri a few minutes ago!

Thanks ED, I left a message on your phone, and if you call me, I think I can explain a lot of things to you.
The Forum comes from a forum company in Vancouver, and they automatically ban the IP of deleted users, in an effort to "protect the forum" from disgruntled users. Yes, it is a stupid thing to do, and just another reason I have chosen to move to state of the art forum software I do have CONTROL over.
I would like to reopen the current RCIA Forum (with the approval of a majority of the members, of course), so Google can crawl and Index all the backlinks "lost" when we closed it.
I am of the opinion we "shot ourselves in the foot" by closing the forum, in the misguided thinking we had to "protect" our "secrets" from the world.
This HID our posts from Google, and this is why backlinks are not showing up. I feel quite sure if the forum is reopened, the backlinks will return again, in time for the summer roof cleaning season!

I have a LOT of plans for the new Forum ED, and it will be better then it ever was.
I can see some personality conflicts happening there, and we need to get to the bottom of them ASAP.
Every voice will be heard, because I care about all of you guys.

The small amount of money I make off the RCIA ain't chit, compared to all the time I spend on it. here it is on a Football Sunday, my team is playing right now! My Son and my Company that is here for the BBQ and Beer are screaming at me to come watch the game. Look at where I am at.

Use your GGuy email, and the password 123456 Art. Your password may have been changed, so I used the password 123456
Use it, until you get in, then you can change it. Your IP does not show as being banned

Your status was still showing " Banned User". I just changed it to guest. Your profile is showing active. Try now and see what happens.
 
Glad pwi could resolve the problem. Building unity not division , I hope Chris this serves as a lesson that pwi is about sharing teaching and learning together,

Division is for others and will not solve or create a good environment for anyone.

Why start another forum? Why not just use Roof Cleaning on PWI wouldnt the seo be the same no matter where the post are placed?

I'm not sure Gary is banned? Can't tell on my phone, if he was I think someone would have announced it.

I just don't think Gary can control anything we say so its probably wise to say he's banned.

I don't think he's banned here, of course I've been wrong before.
