Getting wife involved

I opened shop in November 2009, in 2011 my wife joined me to do sales and marketing. Was the best decision I ever made for Spray Wash. Now she does sales, marketing, office management, personnel, customer service, and even has been known to grab a wand when needed!

Ray, that's terrific! Now all you need to do is get her to rapell down the sides of 11-story buildings and you've got it made! lol

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'll start her off with a little office work. Shes only 5 foot pulling the trigger might feel like squeezing a AK 47 to her lol, but who knows until she try.

My wife is 5 foot but she still grabs a wand here and there. She is also a banker.

I dont have my wife involved in my businesses but I will say this. We are purposely trying to hire more women. We have a woman technician now and she is great. They have a great eye for detail.

I completely agree with you here Ty. We had a woman in our window washing crew a few years ago who was one of the best employees I ever had. She struggled at first when she was on storefront routes, so we switched her to residential and that's where she exceled because of the details/obstacles you face in residential. She was also great with the customers - especially, of course, with women/mom's who were usually the one's at the home. Sadly, for me anyways, she followed some boy out to California......

Oh, don't get me started...

Actually, my wife is deeply involved in our business. When she stays to what she is supposed to stay doing, she is one of the best in the world. When she starts getting into my stuff, she causes tons of problems. She often wants me to explain something that she has no basis for, so a Doctorate level problem, when she is barely out of grade school. I am not going to lie, that is VERY frustrating.
When it comes to detail work, like record keeping, finances, and HR, she is excellent.

I agree Ty- maybe its why I'm divorced!

I'm in the same boat with you Mike lol. My wife ever knew how much $$$ I made though she got an allowance. Now that I'm single though my bank account has more $$$ in it though.

My wife doesn't get to involved in the business. She has her full time job at our church. I do go to her for advice on certain things and listen to every word that comes out of her mouth. I value her input. We also discuss any large purchases before I make them.
