Free Hose Reel!

Hello,
I'm Lenny Schrecengost from Toana, VA near Jamestown, VA birthplace of America. We have been in business since 2000 and have grown to include 2 of my 3 sons and I just added 2 more employees. Buisness is good and getting better.

hi my name is mario, started powerwashing 5 months ago part time, ive been in the army 21 years, still serving, hope to make this full time, so i wont have to re-enlist. Rolling up 300 ft of hoses is almost as bad as packing up a JP medium tent. im married, sometimes to Mary, but most of the time to uncle sam. lol. I need a reel, a trailer, a hot waterwasher, and some new teeth.

Hello from Or-e-gone

I'm Karen and have a new business as of 6 months ago. I work with a friend that knows a few things about powerwashing and is an avid reader of the forums to learn more.
We have been advertising but the $ out doesn't = the $ in!! Guess we are bad marketers... We have a wonderful set of equipment but I see all these fellas down south way making TONS of $ cleaning roofs with much lower investment in equipment (unless you see the big guys with the Izusu monster flatbeds!). We've cleaned some houses, flatwork a couple small buildings. But we are NOT a successful business. I think up here they don't value clean houses, buildings, flatwork etc. People up here are shocked to find out you can make things covered in green scum look almost new.
You'll notice a LOT more posts on the east coast and esp. down south. It must be really clean down there!
I think roof cleaning is the way to go. I'd have to sell my current rig (see website equipment page) and get a roof setup. It is very confusing without video to tell what the difference is btwn "downstreaming" and spraying from the ground level. I want to send my helper down south to spend some time with a roof man to see what it's all about.
We want to use powerwashing (or related) to support our prayer ministry as many folks can't pay for services rendered. We, (my sis and brother in law and me) are all Wellspring certified prayer ministers. See akwellspring.com for the place we were trained in AK. Two out of three of us are registered nurses but enjoy cleaning stuff and ministering much more! Six minutes of negative emotions a day can harm your immune system for 24 hours according to medical studies. What we do is call on Jesus to heal the broken heart, lowering the stress response hormone level (cortisol) resulting in a positive immune system response and (wa-laa) improved health. Sure beats passing out drugs to patients in the hospitals!
Does this qualify for a full signature and some personal information on ourselves? I can write TONS more if you want! But I can't give advice on powerwashing yet.

God bless all of you

My name is Doug Dahlke. Been in business a year and a half. Started this up after losing the job I had for the last eighteen years. So far I have been blessed. The lights are on and the mortgagae is being paid. Business this year has grown. These BBS are a great source of information and the people are always willing to help out a fellow PW.

My name is Kevin Gauthier, i just got back into pressure washing at the begining of this year.I used to work for my father for a few years who use to own the bussiness under a different name. Hurricane charlie made us close the bussiness down due to everything being destroyed. I was a corrections officer for over 2 years and loved it but sometimes it seems the LORD has different plans for us so here i am back pressure washing again.

How's it going. eh? They call me Blain the "GreaseBustin dude" , been bustin grease and working in fire protection for @16 yrs . Left the Fire Protection industry for some time due to motor vehicle accident . With lots of self discipline, recognition of limitations and desire to being self employed again started up ASAP GREASEBUSTIN SERVICES . Its been a struggle for 3 yrs rebuilding with sweat equity and no financing, things have balanced out over the last 12 mo. With high intentions of amalgamating with another Fire Equipment company to serve the Fraser Valley , British Columbia, we should be a dominant force once again ...! You mean to say that if you pulled my name for the reel you would actually send it up north ? Make sure you claim as a gift for the duty crap . LOL

It's coming by Pony Express...but they don't deliver to Cali...something about emissions...

That's up there with "snail mail" sent a letter to Delaware....took 3+weeks and that was before the postal increase....

Welcome to the boards. I read this on your website:
"Power washing or pressure washing – whatever you call it, produces a cleaner, safer home or work site."

You may be on to something about the marketing (just good natured ribbing)

Let me know if I can help you out in any way.

>1st. year in business here

started with a partner who financed everything. but ended badly because he wanted a failing business for tax right off BS and i don't ever intend to fail..... he took all the equipment he had purchased trailer, PW,reel ,roof cleaning rig, brushes, chems....EVERYTHING...it was a bad scene this all happened at at around 3:00am wed. and i had 4 residential jobs scheduled that week.... had to rent a PW for 2 weeks and still work out of my suv. got a PW, delevan pump 30 gal. tank, hose, chems,Xjet
etc. will be getting trailer and hitch this week. yea if were to post this on more pretentious boards i would be labeled as the weekend "beer money" warrior maybe even a lowballer? but check out my service magic ratings and reviews and that only represents 10% of total customer base this year... i feel i have a lot to offer this industry and will not stop.
thanks for my rambling

Hi all...Rick here from Northern NJ (Morristown area).

Been out of work since October and have been researching Roof Cleaning for a few months. I'm just about blind from reading all that's posted on the subject, including just about every post on this site.

I believe I've come up with a company name, logo, marketing plan. I'm also trying to finish up on my equipment config. Still lots to learn.

I look forward to getting to know the people who post here...seems to be the best, single source for the industry.

Time to hit the Roof Cleaning forum. :)
