Free Hat

I need your help. My local Landa guy has been told he is no longer an authorized Briggs dealer. This is because he had me on speaker phone when he called Briggs to ask what they planned to do about leaking valve cover gaskets. They informed him it was new to them and there had been no complaints. He then got a call that he waw no longer a dealer. He will send you a free hat if you will send him a pic of your leaking valve covers. I am at my wit's end with oil leaks. Send the pic and address for your hat to mvplanda@bellsouth.net

He is one of the good guys and I would appreciate your help.

I will take pictures of both the leaking valve covers on the 21hp engine.

Sorry to hear about that William, that really sucks!

I really like those briggs engines, except for the leaks in the valve covers and the external oil coolers.

I am sure with the right SEO in this thread, these posts will easily be found on the internet for the whole world to see.

I will email those pictures and also post them here.

They put Harleys to shame. Of course, listening to Brittany, their engines never have warrAnty issues.

Briggs engine leaky valve covers

Here are a few pictures of the leaky valve covers on my 21hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine.

It is over 8 years old but the oil started leaking out of the valve covers very soon after I got it.

The oil cooler hoses started leaking also.

I have changed out the valve cover gaskets a few times and the oil cooler hoses, I change them out once a year or sooner.

I really like the engine but hate the leaky valve covers.

It would be nice if Briggs & Stratton came up with a fix for their leaky valve covers, nobody likes the leaky valve covers.

Ahh! That just keeps them from rusting. LOL

I sent the email William with those pictures.

Hope this helps.

I did a search in Google for Briggs and stratton and the leaky valve covers did not show up, it probably will show up later on as more people post pictures or talk about the leaky briggs and stratton valve covers.

I am sure there are other people out there that have leaky briggs and stratton leaky valve covers besides the few that have posted here.

There might even be a youtube video talking about the briggs and stratton leaky valve covers, I have not looked but there probably is, there is a youtube video for just about everything there.

I will load down your box with photos later today. Forget the hat, I want a paperclip. BTW, most of the pics I send will be of low hour machines.

Tell Briggs that the leas they could do for us that have the leaky engines is to replace them with engines that do not leak, and a case of Castrol 30wt oil.

Just saying.
