Ford ranger???

OK my work van is shot. I had it towed away i was done putting money into it. So i was thinking of putting a flatbed onto my ranger i am thinking it might be dumb to do and it might not be strong enough. Ill probably be holding a couple tanks and soft wash pumps and mount a pressure washer on it and once i get my hot water unit ill put that on there with a big tank and some reels. I am thinking that maybe just to much or is there some things i can do to the truck to make it stronger. Ant thoughts?

i wouldn't recommend putting one tank on the ford ranger let alone more plus equipment. as the owner of a f150 i would recommend at least the 250 or above due to the weight. you can easily find out what the payload is for any truck and that should help you in your decision.

Yeah im going to go look for something today.

I have to work myself into that. A flatbed like that is what i want.

nice, but too open for me, id have to find a really big garage!

Im working out of a Ranger but Im just a lowly greaser. Im under my payload capacity but the rear still squats quite a bit, enough to where I get the occational headlight flash. Im going to install some helper springs to level her back up. You cant beat 26mpg though!

That's a really cool slide out setup.

Is it much trouble flipping up the stacked hose reels?

Nope, they are hinged, just lift em up, set em down. They are over kill, too big, but I got em cheap. I might be trading with Scott, he said he had some smaller ones. Hope he was talking hose reels.

nice set up and great idea! im still trying to figure out how to set up my f150.
i was wondering what kind of washer that is inside and how powerful is it? also, are you still getting 26 mpg with all the additional weight?

I have put a tank back there before and it did just fine but i did not and would not carry a lot of water

I'm very impressed with that set up. But I would be afraid to put a water tank on the back of of Ranger.

Rog does only KEC so he doesn't need a tank.I got to see the truck in the pics monday night. The set up is efficient and carries everything needed for KEC work.

If you were working out of a van then you can work from a ranger. You can upgrade as your business grows. Jason from allstarhousewashing is building a flatbed ranger setup, give him a call if you want specifics.

im sure you can work out of a ranger but i wouldnt compare it to a van such as a 250 or 350 which would withstand a lot more weight.

Its a whopping 2hp 2kpsi 1.5 gpm monster:p

How much will helper springs actually help my truck?

What do you mean by help? They WILL NOT increase your load carrying capacity. Lets say I put a 1000 lb load on the ranger, squats too much for me, if I put 1000 lb helper springs on it should theoretically put it back to level. Ill let you know if thats true once I get mine.
