Flyers! I need help! Do you have any to share as a reference?!? Input would help us!

Hello to all my fellow power washers' :)

First of all my name is Tim I am co-owner of a new company in BC, Canada, on Vancouver Island were calling ourselves Advanced Power Washing. Now I have been planning (actually dreaming) of opening a small business and now here I am 1 step away from success. We have almost everything taken care of but the one major setback were having is marketing ourselves. I have made a few flyers but nothing that seems to POP! We want to stand out and let ppl know we want to do the job right and need some advertising to make us stand out. I am not asking for any one person to design our first company flyer (though if your willing i can pay lol) but more looking for some type of reference.

I have been reading your forums for months and decide to finally join; you most seem like a good bunch of guys that have a common thread and I sense a commraderey amongst you and I hope to join the ranks of the power washing elites lol. Anyways back to business I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on flyers im trying to get the marketing side of this business down feel free to email me any samples or anything that can help or just post it.

Be careful as there are a lot of wannabe marketers out there that sometimes really don't know what they are doing and you will waste a lot of money, especially from those that brag about themselves.

Some of the best advice I have heard is that you should hand out some of your materials to strangers and if the marketing pieces give them the idea or make them want to call then that is a good piece, other wise pretty looking marketing with pretty pieces will not get the phone ringing.

I am not that creative so it is hard for me to come up with good ideas, and I have tried some of those wannabe marketers and wasted money with them.

I would search the internet and when you find a company that you think is good, try to see some of their stuff they made for other companies and if it makes you want to call that company then it might be a good marketing company to use.

1. repetition very important hitting the same route many times a year.

2. color Ron just said hot pink was a great color, I like lemon lime but will try pink next order.


3.offer something to make them call, we are doing free gutter scrub currently.

4. expiration of offer to make them call asp.

5. trust, member of BBB, angielist, license, insured,web sight. repletion actually builds trust IMO

6. change up the lay out and offers

7.I like a picture of a house before and after, maybe a guy scrubbing the gutters, and everything neatly layed out on the flyer, you are always tweaking them to make them better

8. track all your calls to know if the flyer is working, every lead i get I ask how they got my number.
