Fleet, sort of

Some pics of a few thing I have worked on for the last couple of days. This is serious dirty work, especially when you have to clean the elevators and boxes.

These things are fairly large as well. That is a full size, lifted F250 with 35" tires parked in front.

Looks good Larry. Heavy equipment is big part of my income and I know what you mean about dirty work. Sometimes I tell my customers that I dont wash the equip. I just transfer all the grease and dirt onto me and my stuff. Good job and nice truck.

Thanks. I have found that heavy equipment can be rewarding on the pocketbook. It is one of those jobs that a lot of PW'ers shy away from or have no idea how to get it done. Unfortunately they somtetimes starve in the wintertime because of it. The winter is when these big construction companies want their stuff cleaned before it gets serviced.

I remove all loose mud and then degrease. I two step everything after that. It leaves a nice shine and gets all the dirt, oxidation and mud stains off. Basically once I get it cleaner, I wash it like a truck. You can use your normal truck soap it just might need to be more concentrated to get the job done. It all depends on how you apply it.

Thats how I do it as well. I use my turbo tip for knocking the mud off.

One of the scrapers I just cleaned had a concrete based sand mix that they spread for an 800,000 sq.ft. building. That was tough going. Even at 3600 psi the turbo still had to dig at it. That is one of the only times I can think of when I needed more psi.

I know what you mean I just cleaned a komatsu 600 track hoe that fed a hopper wood chips for 5 years without a washing.I had a hell of a time getting the chips out of the track guides and sprockets. O-well just another day.

That sounds difficult and time consuming. Makes you want to buy a 5000 psi pump. The only problem is I very rarely would ever need it.
