I'm in a different area of pressure washing than most of you guys. Could you give me some feedback on this video? I know I don't have a phone number on it yet. I plan on sending this out to some larger property management companies.

Looks like a whole other market for PW companies. The obvious thing is it needs narration and no music. It has a typo at 4:42 "Can even cleaned... etc.

Makes sense. Explains the problem and shows how you solve it. Interesting service. I understand what dirty coils do so I can see a big benefit. I'll bet Ron's gears are grinding on this one.
 
Try to cut the time down by a couple of minutes. I lost interest ( ADD )
But I was awaiting the price list. Good touch.

Good video. Now you made me want to clean my coils...:) Again. LOL I do mine twice a year. Unlike Ash who has A.D.D I did not fall asleep or feel the need to walk away from the pooter during your video. LOL. JK Ash!
actually I've seen many video's that were long but as long as you can make them interesting I believe it holds the attention of the one watching and you don't even notice the time. I'm sure Ash would fall asleep watching mine....I'ts almost 6min long. :eek: Nice Job!

It's hard to cut it down. The writing on the screen has to be brief so you can see it at that crappy resolution. What were we talking about again? :)

Nice catch with the typo. I'll get that fixed tonight. Thanks. I think I'm going to make an additional one with narration and no music and try to see if either one generates more calls.

I wonder how many people are gonna bend up fins and bust the coils trying to start a new business.

We bought over 60 salvage coils to experiment on for about 6 months. We filled them with all kinds of crap and blasted the daylights out of them. But still, one dork trying to answer his cell phone while cleaning can hit it the wrong way and we have to spend an hour fixing it. Luckily the only ones we've ruined were the experimental ones. We've been cleaning electrostatic filters for 4 years now.

By the way, I got a call today from one of our HVAC service companies wanting to know if we can steam clean calcium deposits off of coils? Has anyone had any experience cleaning calcium deposits?

Example: You are performing a cleaning service and the property owner fail to tell you that when it rains he as a very small leak under the unit indoors, with your added water the leak becomes more visible and now the owner wants to say you are at fault. just curious

Good question. If water gets in the building when doing a condenser, the unit has been installed improperly. Here, in the southwest, the one or two times it does rain the downpour is torrential and if there was a previous leak there would be some kind of staining.

Evaporators are a different story. I don't know if you saw that bent plastic piece at 4:10, but we have those pieces of plastic already cut to fit about 90% of the units we service and they direct the water out.

Sometimes the owner of the building has to make a choice. We are doing a BMW dealership next month where their units are so jammed up with carbon deposits, they are instructed to remove everything from under the units because water WILL come in the building. But the GM decided he would rather clean up water than spend thousands replacing coils and compressors. (He will be required to sign a water damage waiver.)

If they don't want water in the building we still do low volume chemical cleanings on evaporators. That is why I was on here a few weeks ago looking for those awesome adjustable guns I got from Envirospec.
 
im wondering at 20 to 60 bucks a pop either you need to have a kick ares add on service or you need to do a bunch a week kinda like mowing . . .. . i would be interested in seeing how you have your business model set up for something like this . . . .


I prospect using Google Earth and Windows Live Maps. You can determine the size of units from looking at them on the satellite view (birdseye view is great), in combination with the size of the building. Generally 1 ton of ac for every 500 square ft of space.

3 ton condenser is a single layer coil and can be THOROUGHLY cleaned in less than 4 minutes. Thus, $20.00. The larger the unit, the more the cost. In four years, whether it is filter cleaning or coil cleaning we only have a handful of accounts that generate less than $200.00 per hour. Our best one is $430 per hour for filter service, but they are happy to pay it because of the difficult roof access.

There is a building out here with over 500 6 to 10 ton units that I am trying to get.

The large unit we are cleaning in the video with the 90 degree tip pointing up takes 1 1/2 hours to clean and we charge $600.00 for that. There is a mall here with 26 of those units and another brand new mall we are bidding this month with about 35 of them.

We're not going house to house and cleaning individual units.:)

That is a nice tactic, I often use the birds eye view for snow removal.
