Anyone filter their dip vat after using it for a while to get rid of the foreign mater like carbon and dirt? The last time we changed out our chem in the vat I got to thinking that its still working fine it just looks bad. If so, what do you filter it through?

Are you referring to soak tanks that are used on site? ....less than 35 gallons or so? or are you referring to a much larger tank? if you are referring to the small tanks then the cost of the filtration media would probably equal or exceed the cost of the chemicals that you are trying to filter and i would think that the chemicals would have a great reduction in effectiveness due to the initial chemical reactions that take place during cleaning. Also you would eventually have to get rid of the filtration media i would think so. just in my opinion i would think that you would be committing more time to the task, trying to save a little money. I know everyone is looking for ways to save money and improve the industry so you should probably build a "super-secret self filtering filter self wash tank" but good luck with it and send me the plans when complete.:sarcastic::sarcastic:

100 gal plus, mobile or stationary options... Just trying to see if anyone else filters caustic and surfactant.

We skim the grease that floats to the top, makes it a bit easier to deal with once removed.

Skim with what, a micro sock or bag maybe? Not sure what else you could use because the grease is pretty well deluted... I know grease has about a 60 micron rating so it would have to be finer tha that, right?

The filtration medium we use filters to 5 microns, give or take a mic or two :dirol:

5 micron would make sense...
