Experts wanted to host additional forums.

We need a fleet guy....how about Dan S. or Scott Stone??

....and define "expert". Is that someone that is extremely skilled at the trade as far as service goes, or is it someone that is an expert at running a successful biz in that trade?? For fleets/roofs/whatever, I'd rather hear from someone and be coached by someone that has had success running a biz, as opposed to a master of trade. Owner/Ops tend to be very highly-skilled at their trade, but none of this stuff is that hard. I'd be more interested in a guy that puts out good work with 50 employees AND is profitable, happy, and can show a track-record of success, not just a really smooth stroke with the wand:)

Jon , I dont want to sound like i'm picking on you, that statment drives me crazy.

Yes some aspects of this stuff is very simple. trust me my program is very simple. i often would say some people complicate things to much, but a statement like the above offends my talents and expertise in running a business thats made millions of dollars just PW.

Jon, On the other aspects of your post i would agree that levels of expertise and knowledge is the key. Some talents may be marketing, some engineering the science of putting the entire operation together.

I can tell you that past employees have made my business, i provided a plan and vision and they helped me improve it.

My expert advice i believe is a small part of this huge industry. My programs cannot be used in rural markets. I dont believe in trying to do everything. as you know i just wash concrete. Flat sidewalks outside of shops and stores.

I'm certain others are as successful as i have been.

I believe we are looking for folks like Robert H and Phil A., Pete M. EA, and so on.

Beth is certainly has expertise in running a BBS. She hands down has built the most successful BBS on the planet for PW. Is she a hood expert? I dont know that answer.

Do you consider yourself a pro or expert deck man. And yes would you be willing to teach and tell all?

I believe that we are looking for folks that are true experts and understand that education raises the level and standards.

I'm not interested. I got too much to do managing my business.

Scott

Ron,

...When I say "it is not that hard", I am not referring to what you do as the owner of the biz, I am referring to standing there with a wand in your hand trying to get some dirt off of some concrete. That is why I think an "expert" is someone that runs a big, succesful biz.....like you or Mike H., Grant, etc. An owner/op. is "great" at the technical application, but are they good at running a biz?? Because that is the tough part....growing, managing, profitabilty, margins, etc. Not being really good at finding proper bleach mixtures. I don't know hoods, but personally, I'd far rather hear from a guy like Grant than Phil Ackland, a policy maker. I wanna hear from the guy that can help me grow, make more $$$$$$$. I'd want to be rich like Grant:)

I was never officially asked beforehand, but no thank you!

I enjoy what we do and I appreciate all the kind words, but life is short. I'm currently splitting time between cleaning, selling, developing new ideas and working on something special for the near future.

My personal life is taking me to Europe next month (vacation) and hopefully toward some little bambinos in the near future.

As always, I'll continue to contribute when possible.

For those who felt compelled to mention my name, all I can say is "Wow....And Thank You!!!"
