I was asked to submitt an estimate for cleaning out a dry well for one of our pm's. I was wondering if anyone has done this before, not really sure as to what to do or if I will even give a proposal. Thanks

I'd spray it. Look at it and figure out how much time it might take. I will spray anything that they pay me for. Might need a sump pump or vac for a well tho... haha

Just hit the outsides and charge per hour.... Let me know how it goes... I would be curious to know what you can charge. Take some pics. :thumbup2:

There is a lot more to cleaning a drywell then spraying it. There is typically a lot of trash and debris in the bottom, and no doubt a certification of some type to be given. If you google "cleaning a dry well" you should get a bit more information.

Scott, I'm sure you are dry well spraying expert... haha

Maybe I need to build a website for dry well cleaning....

Are you certain its not and interceptor? Dry wells are not cleaned by pressure washers.

Be vary careful because you can be blamed for clogging...that could cost you 1000.00 to 15,000 depending on the size well.

Tell us more and lets see a photo of this your cleaning? I'll bet its a sanitary sewer overflow that the problem. Just guessing or a PM that doesnt know what they are doing.

Nope, just smart enough, and enough business experience to know what I don't know. I know enough about dry wells and seen enough cleaned to know I don't own a vactor truck, and that there are things to know about before cleaning them.

I'll bet that its cleaning above ground outside the well, maybe even the rocks of concrete landing leading away.

I took a look at it today, it is an actual dry well in the middle of the parking lot. Full to the brim with mud and dirt. I turned it down. Thanks guys.
