One of the firemen at my station gave me a used floor buffer for free. He said he thought it was also used as a floor sander - just had to put sanding discs on it rather than tile buff pads.
First, does anyone know if this machine can be used to sand down deck floors to prep for stain? I'm not planning to try to strip with it, just smooth rough, weathered decks for a nicer finish.
Second, is there any preference between an orbital vs drum? Pros - Cons for either?
I did a search here on orbital floor sanding and only came up with one hit, so figured I'd put these questions out there to y'all. Thanks for any guidance offered.:scratchhead:
