Droid x?

Get the Advanced Task Killer app. It will greatly improve battery life.

Actually Thad, I had that and it didn't. I uninstalled it after about 2 weeks. My buddy sent me an article explaining how it doesn't help because those apps will stop themselves if you just give them a little time.. I'll try to find it for you.

I was getting about 4 hours with my battery with that app killer. Now I get around 7 hours with about the same usage and more apps installed etc. To me, it still sucks, but that is the ONLY thing that sucks about this phone. I love the Epic. That front camera chat and the slider keyboard and swype...freakin sweet!

One of our Droid X's bit the dust yesterday (mine). Woke up yesterday, found the phone was only reading 15% charged. Went to pick it up, the phone was unacceptably hot to the touch. Pulled the battery, charged chargers, all the simply troubleshooting stuff I could think of, all to no avail.

Called Verizon, they overnight-ed a new Droid X to me, should be here this morning.

Now the phone would even stay on. Anyone else aso had a similar problem with the Droid X ???

We just got another X and an incredible too. So far no problems that weren't fixed immediately by getting rid of whatever dowloaded app caused the problem.

We are now making a list of apps and downloading them one at a time and making sure it doesn't cause problems first.

Some of the apps cause conflicts. It helps to read the comments before downloading.

Jim, it sounds like your phone was in a loop trying to upload pics or videos to the net. Once I uploaded a 100 meg video that it didn't like for some reason and it kept trying over and over again to upload it running the battery down.

Not sure Tony, live and learn. Might be the battery went bad or the phone. Sitting here waiting fro FedEx to bring me a new phone.

I don't run many apps, so I guess your guess is as good as mine.

My wife's phone died the other day and we switched phones and I broke down and got the newer Droid X. WOW!!! I'm wondering if I will ever learn how to use this thing. Definitely a new way of doing things. I figure if I learn one or two new things on it a day I should be able to breeze through it by the time I'm 73yrs old. LOL
