+1000. Precisely. Pre treat with reg. mix. Post treat with xjet. All algae and mold spots disappear before your eyes. Driveway brightens up, and DOES stay cleaner longer without surface cleaner lines appearing in a couple of months.
I never use sh, doesn't matter to everyone. Some of us know different processes to achieve the same results.

I agree Ron,,no need for SH in cleaning concrete,..not even moldy concrete,A good mix of NAOH will clean even the moldiest concrete...or maybe even just hot water and pressure,...but in your opinion and environment,..does it or does it not make a difference in longevity? With commercial work I can easily see not using SH simply because if done regularly,.mold isn't an issue anyhow,..but what about residential that is done once a year or even once every two years? In my region I think it makes a difference in longevity, thus making it a simpler job for us the next time we do it.

SH kills the algae, mold and mildew. Does sodium hydroxide? I know it will melt it away like nobodies business, but does it kill mold? SH is my go to mix because I know it works perfectly....oh yeah and I get it for $1.16 a gallon so....

I agree Ralph,..that's why I use at least some percentage when cleaning concrete. I don't know what Dragon Juice is,..and not even sure what it's primary use is,..but cleaning residential concrete isn't a great science either way, as mentioned many times by many contractors,..simply DS'ing the same mix used for houses will soften up mold and dirt enough that you can run a surface cleaner over it with one pass and it will be clean. Seems there's always something "new and improved" that makes our work easier,..but I think most products these days are just variations of other products,..consisting of the same detergents.
With respect to Doug and Ron,..those pictures are the "same" pictures we've seen for the last umpteen years when someone shows examples of concrete cleaning,..nothing new there.
*I like trying new ideas and thinking above and beyond where we're at with equipment and products,..but I personally feel that I've reached a saturation point of improvements that makes "A World of Difference"
I mean,..we fly through house washing, deck cleaning, concrete cleaning and roof cleaning,..I'm not sure what else can be done to make it that much easier.
**With that said, I did kind of accidentally,. or out of "desperation" come upon a good cold weather gutter cleaner for those tough days in early Spring and late Fall. But it isn't a complete game changer, in that it won't replace my primary gutter cleaner. So, yea,..I do believe improvements can and will be made made,..but in small increments. And because the work seems so routine these days,..I am always paying attention to how we do things and try to improve on it,..but sometimes those ideas aren't an improvement,..just seemed good at the time,Ha,Ha,..

I myself only put mold inhabiter at the post partum of the job .But clean with straight hot 175 degree water with no issues .Some times ill even mix some oxcolic and pump spray it it and leave it ,if surface is old . Turns it white again .
Ive got some dragon juice 10 gal .ill try it on drive way one day .Havent used it yet so i can't give my opinion yet .
Hope it is good as folks say .

Hey Ron, I'm in Brisbane Australia and we don't have any of these non bleach products available to us here, and with our dollar being crap, the price to import with shipping is crazy.
Are you able to PM me with how you do it as it's an expensive trip and a long way to fly to get over there to a show.....I do at some stage want to go along, but will more likely be 2017.

I first tried the dragon juice in Orlando... Wow! Doug, we pretreat with a pretty hot soapy mix and let it dwell. Crank up the washer/36" and fly through it diluting the mix as we go. A house mix for us won't touch organic stains and we don't like to leave a hot mix down to stink it up. After pressure washing you rinse and then treat hot and rinse again.. It works better for us to pretreat. This actually started when I was left with only my 4.5gpm to spin my 36" after our 8.5gpm blew a seal.

Yeah I've done it that way too...a hot (bleach) soapy mix, then surface clean, and then downstream a lighter mix after, that won't stink it up. But the purpose of this test was NO BLEACH was used at all, not during the pre, post or during cleaning. Also have done no pre treatment, cleaned, then put down a hot mix(w bleach), and also pre-treated w a hot mix (w bleach) cleaned and no post treatment.
But again for this testing, of this product, (Dragon Juice) only a pre treatment (no bleach), downstreamed, and then surface cleaned was done.

Doug I totally get what you were saying and that dj is some wet stuff. I pretreat and wash, I was just repeating what another fella was saying about pre treating with house wash, then treating again after. My sole reason for treating at all is organic stains that pressure washing alone won't clean. If the concrete doesn't have acorn stains, etc...we still pretreat most because of the time it saves us. We don't have to take time making a mix, just set dials on proportioner and spray...
